Automatic Trash Can

There’s a very narrow space between my toilet bowl and the bathroom counter where I can only fit a teeny tiny trash can before. This trash can is great because it has a bigger capacity while still being narrow. Your average grocery bag can be used as the trash bag/liner, too. Also great that it has a lid so my dog can’t get into it. The trash can opens and closes with a push on the lid. The only downside I’ve experienced is that this latching mechanism sometimes catches on itself, so I have to sometimes push/click again to get it to open, but it’s not that big of a deal. Overall a great purchase. Would even look good as a trash can for a car or a desk, as it’s very minimalist and sleek.

Love this little trash can. It replaced my bathroom trashcan that had a foot pedal to open it. Even though the old one could be deemed more "sanitary", this one just looks nicer, is bigger, and since the entire top comes off, its so much easier to put in and change a plastic bag/liner. I like reusing old target bags for this purpose which is much easier with this design since the bag is completely hidden when the lid is closed.

This is my favorite trash can. This is the second time I ordered it. Very easy to open. Good quality materials. The latch and hinges broke after a long time of use, but I noticed the newest one I just bought came with replacement parts, so I think that's good that they're trying to make up for the wear that normal use has on it. It holds a grocery sack's worth of trash. It fits perfectly into a narrow space and is made of strong, thick plastic. Functions great.

This trash can is two pieces! A trash can inside, which hides using a store grocery bag as your collection bag- that is kind of nice! But, the plastic sleeve that goes over it and includes the pop-up lid does not click and stay connected. So, when you try and move the trash, the outside starts coming off. I have learned to move the trash can with my foot from the base. The top pops us easily and with a firm touch closes. You do have to touch near the center to open and close. Good deal for the money and it has kept my DOG OUT OF THE TRASH!!!

I ordered this narrow covered trash can and placed it on the bottom of a tall narrow cupboard next to our toilet (the cupboard has a door). My relative uses depends and likes to be discreet for good reason. I placed a trash bag in it to serve as a liner, and provided her with small trash bags that I kept in the cupboard for her to use. She wrapped the used depends up in a small trash bag, then placed it in this trash can that I had lined. We emptied the can every morning. Worked perfect! No odor! She thanked me when her time here came to an end and said she felt she was able to be very discreet about her depend use. I did place an air freshener in the little cupboard as well. I’ll definitely do this again for her. We have a new puppy and I bought a bigger one that we do the same thing with and keep it on the deck and dispose of the pups soiled potty pads each day, and change the liner daily, disposing of the daily contents in our big container that is picked up by our refuse collector weekly.

Had high hopes, but as others have said, this (small trashcan with auto lid) seems like something that should be simple to design, but apparently not. Here are the problems: 1. At first, seems great. But wait... 2. Battery life is abysmal. I tried many ropes of batteries, from premium to rechargeable. They do not last long enough to justify an automatic lid. It's hard for me to quantify because it's obviously based on use. But let's say with light use, probably less than one month. 3. Once battery is dead, you can't manually open the lid without feeling like you're "forcing" the hinge mechanism. 4. Battery compartment is not convenient to pull out and push in. 5. As others have mentioned, hard to find/fit bags or liners that don't stick out and kill the sleek look. 6. Materials, including/especially what seems to be the motor, are flimsy. I am a very busy person and only take the time to write reviews (certainly long ones) when I feel I've been shorted on price vs. quality. Keep looking. You've been warned. Give more credence to the critical reviews than the shining ones.

It's cute and perfect for fitting between couches.

I actually use this as a cat litter waste basket. It’s slim enough to fit right behind his litter box keeping that area neat and tidy. It also keeps odors locked in WHEN the lid stays closed. Unfortunately at times the lid will just pop open on its own. I seem to be constantly closing it. Not sure why this happens as it doesn’t appear that the latch is broken or even worn. With that said, they do include a replacement latch, so I’m assuming this issue is common. My problem is I cannot take the original latch off in order to put the new one on. I have worked with it and fiddled with it on countless occasions and still cannot remove that darn latch. So I’m stuck with having to constantly close the lid after popping open. I truly like this slim waste basket and the ease of use but when you have to mess with the lid so often it’s just not worth it. I might be looking for a different one with a different lid closing system unless I can figure out a way of replacing the latch. I suspect even if I find a way to replace it, the new latch will probably do the same thing after awhile. Until they can improve on the lid/latch, I just can’t recommend it.

Arrived with jammed button. Once able to turn on, lid would continue to open and close without anyone being near. Would not recommend.

Product arrived broken. We tried to fix ourselves rather than deal with replacements/refunds but it broke again and because the return policy was just one month after purchase, we couldn’t get a refund or replacement. Would be cautious buying this.

Great bin. Lovely and bright. Fits perfectly by the side of a toilet. Its exactly what I wanted.
