Rock wool is easy to tear. Hole in it is deep enough for all seeds. lots of room in the net cups. So much clear and easier than the peat pods.

Cubes should work but I haven't tested so giving a 4 star until I can verify.Cups worked great with 2 inch sponges to move seedlings into a hydroponic system I built.

I can't get one seed to germinate using this product. It may be my fault, since there aren't any really helpful instructions. But I will definitely not use this product again. I will experiment with coconut for now.

This kit is a great accessory for any hydroponic system that can accept a 2” net pot. The pots are well constructed - not flimsy - and easily fit a cube of rockwool. I did think it a little odd that the pots are round, but the rockwool is square. It would have been a little cleaner if the rockwool was cut into round plugs. Nevertheless, once saturated, they do expand to (mostly) fill the pot.What I was really happy about, however, is that the rockwool cubes do perfectly fit the grow pots of the Gardyn hydroponic system making it easy (and much less expensive!) to grown my own seeds rather than constantly having to order or subscribe to their seed service.For me, the rockwool is really the best part of this kit, but I’m certain I will be able to make use of the net pots as well. The pots with the rockwool are great for seed starts, but again, I’m super-thrilled that these work with the Gardyn grow tower.Great to have on hand of you have a Gardyn or just need a supply of good net pots and grow medium.
