This is well written and lots of content quite a lot to read though before you get to the actual activities. Some really good circle time tips and lots of content. Glad I purchased it as I do lots of circle time and it goes into great depth if you have the time to sit down and read through it. I picked up some really great ideas to use and it helped me to understand a little bit more the finer points of circle time.

I like the way Jenny sets out her sessions. She thinks about making children comfortable about talking about their feelings and putting confidence in their sharing. I like the suggested games and the idea of a closing activity. She tends to suggest a game or 2 followed by a round, a discussion and a closing activity. The areas she covers will easily take you through a year and if not will give you enough ideas to stretch the areas further. The sections may have 4-5 sessions which may not last you a half term but gives you enough to go on and like I say expand and stretch to suit your class. In my experience the games can become familiar to the children and they ask for them.

Some good ideas for circle time activities, I only wish I had more time in the day to incorporate longer circle time sessions in my classroom.

This book gives fabulous ideas on circle time activities that can be adapted to suit the needs of the subject being covered. Highly recommended.
