Honeywell Home D107 Facet Classic Wired Doorbell, Applicable

Redecorating hallway and tried to clean up old and yellowed original. I used PVCu frame cleaner - solvent based. It melted the plastic facia- thank Friday it wasn’t my double-glazing frames - I’m not sure why they even sell a solvent).Anyway, back to the bell- I’d papered the wall, kept the wiring intact and marked I one as “B” for bottom.The new bell is longer and slimmer than the old- I pulled wires thro the back and marked new screw hole locations - not before taking the opportunity to line the edge of tge bell with and edge on the new wallpaper to cover up that it very slightly overlapped doh!Drilled holes, fitted wall plugs (not supplied) and fitted the base on to the wall.I pressed the doorbell outside, the chime was naff.I fitted tge facia onto the base and pressed the doorbell- and the chime was perfect!I’m very pleased with the product!

Installed it after a lot of hassle with the connections ,then tried pressing the bellpush !! it was very quiet,in fact no use at all. I Was all ready to return it, but had one last go. Tried fitting the outer cover, and it worked perfectly! Now quite pleased with it as a replacement for a similar unit that had given 25 years of service. If I was fitting one again I would make sure the little grub screws connecting the wires would undo a little before screwing the chimes to the wall. And Fit the outer cover!!!

I bought this as a replacement for one that we’d for a very long time but had become corroded and stopped working. I was actually surprised that they still made them and although the old one was a different make this was almost identical. Fitting was relatively simple, and the sound was as loud as my old one, which was a relief as I saw other reviews stating this wasn’t loud enough. All in all the product is absolutely fine.

Works with a Blink doorbell but it is just too quiet. Easy to fit and looks good.

Was apprehensive at first due to some of the negative reviews and price - but proceeded due to this being the only design similar to my existing door chime that was faulty.Points on installing:1) Box has a slightly different shape to old one - so prepare your drill bits etc. to make a new hole2) For some reason the screws do not conduct electricity only the metal contacts underneath - ensure that you install wires accordingly3)If the chime bars are not pushed in correctly, or are in the wrong way around i.e. upside down, then you will only get the ding not the dong!! - once the chimes are in the right way the make a perfect ding dong!All in all good door chime once correctly installed, slightly different noise to original but does the job and loud enough to hear around the house!

And for the price a very pleasing purchase. Easy to fit and wire up no brainer

Bought to replace pretty old Friedland, battery powered, chime which didn't always work and was corroded on terminals from batteriesAlso replaced the outside bell push and the wiring.The Facet door chime would only manage a quiet ding and no dong. It sounded as though it was not getting enough power to make it work.Tried fiddling with battery positions; redid the wires to the terminals in the chime box and the bell push; bought yet more new batteries just in case. Still no joy.Bought another Facet D107 from Amazon yet exactly the same result as above; no joy.Out of frustration I cleaned the original Friedland chime and sandpapered clean the battery terminals. Now, with the new bell push and wiring it works exactly as you would want and its audible.2 Facet D107's returning to Amazon.My experience is ,that if you want a battery powered door chime, don't purchase this.
