711P Professional Grade Plank Tapping Block X-Long

This is much higher quality tapping block that the kind usually available at the big box stores. The added width makes for better contact with planks, allowing for a quicker and more solid installation. The handle is comfortable. This is a great tool for Laminate , Vinyl Plank , and hardwood floor installations.

This block worked great for me. I installed about 1200 sq ft of Lowes SmartCore vinyl plank flooring and used this the entire time. I started off using a wood block which was not real flat against the planks and made some indentations in the groove. With this block it stays flat against the plank and distributes the hammer blows evenly on the plank. Highly recommend.

I used this for installing Home Depot Lifeproof LVP. This tool worked perfectly and was very durable.

This worked pretty well, but only after I had to alter it a bit. The upper ledge that contacts/taps the planks was still hitting the latching edge of my lvp, so I trimmed a small amount off of the upper ledge with my table saw and it worked perfect after that. Hope you can follow what I'm trying to explain. I basically made the tapping edge surface thinner, thereby increasing the spacing between it and the surface that the tapping block is sliding on.

This tapping block proved to be invaluable when installing vinyl plank flooring. It was so much better than the small block I originally had. I installed over 500 sq feet and this baby held up and really did the job. Invest in a high quality LONG length block like this and you will not regret it. It made the installation so easy. The only problem was the knob turned and was a bit annoying, but trust me when I tell you you need this if you install LVP!

This thing is EXCEPTIONAL. I used a standard tapping block when I installed 1k sq ft of flooring in a rental. It worked ok, but if you did not strike true parallel to the plank, you would chip the interlocking edge.This one has a lip that slides over the edging. It also has a ball handle that allows the block to instantly adjust itself to a true full edge of contact so I have not had any broken edges.It is best when knocked with hand power into the edges to set them, but you can also place it against the edging and use a mallet to smack it into the flooring material and it has zero deformities.This is well made but light weight. The edges of your flooring material will thank you.Do not forget your edge puller and a rubber or heavy plastic mallet. You will install like a pro.

This might work for a very small project but it was terrible for installing over 2K of LVP. The small handle kept coming loose and it was very irritating. I made it through the whole project but it was rough. This went straight in the trash once I was done.

Lost my last one in a move so I was in need of another. I was only doing about 600 sf of flooring so I pick out one at a good price. Worked out better than my old one.
