SONDERGUT - Backgammon - Travel Backgammon Set - Genuine Leather (Mocha) (Cream)

I am an avid backgammon fan and after losing the small briefcase style travel board I had, I wanted to find something less bulky (than a hard case) yet not so tiny that it was hard to play on (like the magnetic travel boards). Although this is not a full sized board, I think it's just big enough. Perfect in my eyes. The fact that it rolls up so neatly and is soft makes it easy to pack in a backpack or even a handbag and take anywhere. The suede and stitching are good quality and the markers fit the size of the board (another gripe I had about my old board was the pieces were smaller than the size of the wide end of the points). Although my old travel board was a gift from my husband, I am quietly happy it got lost so I could get this one. I really love it.

The Backgammon set is fantastic, soft to touch, compact, well made and presented. Good value for money. The Amazon delivery agents though are dismally poor. They do not follow delivery instructions and don't leave the parcel in the nominated safe place. They also mark the delivery as 'handed to resident' when the delivery is just left outside the door. Terrible service Amazon.

Does what it says on the tin. Everything has a nice feel to it so worth paying extra for this model compared to cheaper alternatives.

I love backgammon but I have always found it rather problematic to carry a board around with me for the occasional game or two. This neat kit solved that problem by providing a tight yet workable board you can actually roll away and carry with you will you travel. These is only 1 drawback in my opinion, and that is that the set does not come with any dice cups. Admittedly it would have been hard to include them in such a travel-friendly set but I still feel that the set would have been better had provisions been made to include them. Overall a great kit, and I am definitely glad I bought it.

The media could not be loaded. Fantastic and unique design material feels good quality. It’s a great travel pack great for chucking in a backpack not taking up much space and light. But despite the travel positive it doesn’t effect the playability, board good size and rolls out beautifully and good sized counters and dice - not too small and good play weight but Equally small enough for a travel set.

A really nice set, and would be highly recommended but there were no white pieces, only two sets of black so utterly useless as a set. Unfortunately I didn't use it until after the returns period had expired so I can't do anything other than buy some replacement pieces for £16. Far from ideal.

I purchased this a Christmas gift (for myself!) as I love playing the game and I wanted something that was portable and quick and easy to set up. This product has surpassed my expectations.It is beautifully made and the quality of the board is top notch, it really looks the business. Over time, the leather may fade/stain but this will only add to the character.It was more pricey than some of the other travel options, but the set is durable and so easy to carry around. I took it to my parents house at Christmas and was soon teaching relatives the rules over a glass of fizz. Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended.

No dust/waterproof cover. This set us rapidly going to get ruined, especially if travelling which is what it is supposed to be designed for. The set sorely needs one and as it’s supposed to be for travel and chucking in a bag it should come with one.Sorely needs tubes or something to put the counters in for quick pack up and easy storage. All the pieces are loose making it a challenge to pack up and store the counters correctly.Counters need to be heavier. I don’t normally ask for things for travel to be heavier but the counters are like air.Sorely a better zip, like a YKK zip. Zip is flimsy and I think it will break quite quickly which will make the whole set unusable and unfix able.If these minor but necessary improvements were made this would be a good travel set. As is, I can’t recommend it.
