Roper Rhodes Traditional Limed Oak Soft Close D-Shaped Toilet Seat - Brown

This was purchased as part of a house refurbishment six months ago. We installed this seat at the same time as a Heritage soft close seat in a different bathroom (differnt colour required). It was easy to fit and the soft close has worked well. About a month ago, a screw holding the seat cover became loose. After tightening it, it began to loosen again and, continued to loosen at a faster rate despite tightening repeatedly. The screws one one side have finally totally loosened and the seat cover is no longer attached. Over 30 days, so I contacted Rhoper Rhodes who were helpful (after supplying photos), but then referred me back to the original supplier as the 'hinges had not failed'. I am still waiting for a response. The Heritage seat is still working perfectly.

Excellent choice, as stylish as a loo seat can be, albeit expensive and only worth it if, ultimately, it lasts for many years compared to cheaper versions.The installation is a bit more complicated than with seat without the "soft closing" feature - it took me a few failed attempts to understand what was needed, how it works and how to align it. The instructions aren't that clear to a complete DIY novice. But once done, it suddenly seems very obvious and worth the effort.Yes, it took me an hour or so, but the next one will take five minutes. But that's the same as changing a washer or an electric plug, isn't it? And hopefully it will be a long time before I have to change this. Fingers crossed.

The "top fix insert" bear no relationship to the image in instructions, and doesn't fit the holes in the bowl - awaiting call back from Roper Rhodes. Lasted5 weeks until a fitting snappedOnly received today, and not used yetso too soon for other comments

I purchased 2 of these seats but unfortunately the soft close hinge on 1 of the seats broke after 2 weeks.I have received a replacement seat, so hopefully this one will last.

Two of these items have cracks that make using them impossible. A third one is evidently damaged and still in packaging. As I purchased them in January and it has been some time before installing them in a house we have only recently moved into, the standard 30 day return period has elapsed. I do feel that I am due replacement of faulty goods and would like to receive advice on how I can return these items.

When I first purchased this item I gave it 5 stars as I loved the product. A week later the toilet seat has a crack in it and is obviously going to get worse. As the seat looked perfect on arrival I discarded the packaging so now I am unable to return it. I recommend NOT to buy this product.

Really disappointed, looks amazing but I've bought two and both have cracked down the centre of the seat. It's definitely fitted correctly and we're not heavy! Will be getting another refund and am not trying a third one. Such a shame as I love it, but can't live with a crack considering the cost.
