This Lutron Caseta Smart Lighting Diva Smart Dimmer Switch is definitely a step up from the previous Caseta switches. It's got the same reliable function but with a sleeker, more modern design. The slider and soft-glow light bar allow for precise dimming, and the smart away feature provides peace of mind when you're not home. The price point is a bit high, but the quality and convenience make it a worthwhile investment. I'm planning to slowly replace all my old push-button switches with these superior ones.

I've had Caseta smart switches for many years and particularly enjoy how they continue to work during internet outages unlike most smart home solutions. The main issue with the older switches was they looked complicated to anyone not used to a switch with 4 or five buttons (i've come into a semi dark room to find older relatives just staring at the switch). Not only does the smart Diva look and behave much more like a conventional light switch but it adds extra smarts making it almost the perfect light switch. 100% brightness too bright? in the app you can make the max brightness lower. lights flicker below a certain dimness? you can make the minimum brightness higher. Do you have a three way setup? Use a pico remote for the other switch, or you can use the accessory switch available separately - or you can use your existing basic three way switch! (you will need to search the Lutron website for a 2 page document explaining the minor change to the traditional switch's wiring as they fail to mention it in even the online setup instructions as far as I can see). You want it to turn off automatically? also configurable in the app. This smart switch definitely exceeded my high expectations (if only they were less expensive I'd probably switch every light switch to them). You do need a base unit and full setup will require using the Lutron app.

Good quality

Lutron is the only smart switch that has never failed to respond. I have used many over the last 25 years, and this is the clear winner. I didn't intend to get a no-neutral wire version, especially with my LED lights, but it seems to make no difference: works great, but maybe slightly slower. I do miss some features, like variable dim rate, or detecting button press separately from the light status. But reliability is always first priority.

These paddle style switches are just what you need. The greatly improve on the old button style. I have installed about 6 of them.

Hire an electrician for 3 way switches, rewiring, home automation, etc and they will use Lutron Caseta products. This is the gold standard. Lutron continues support for even their oldest products (this is not old, this is a newer line). Expect full compatibility with all common platforms (Apple Home, Google, Alexa, etc.). We have 30+ Lutron switches and PICO remotes and have been using them without an issue for close to a decade.

These are the best dimmers. I wish they weren't so expensive, I'd install them everywhere. Love the feel of pressing the button and the slider has great feel too.
