Q: I’m going to hike in -10c us national park this winter. is this going to keep me warm?

I would say yes as long as you have good quality layers on top. I am using mine in similar conditions in Austrian alps skiing and its performing well underneath good quality ski wear.

Q: There was only a top and no bottoms as advertised?

This is one set including 1 top and 1 bottoms.

Q: have other customers found they needed larger size than usual?

I ordered the 12/14 and found it a good fit ( I am 10/12) The problem was the ridiculously tiny seams which came apart the first time I wore it! It's terrible quality!!
