Hard to roll even after a many uses
Thought this looked like a quality product, but was stiff and hard to maneuver initially. Thought it would get easier after using a few times but even after many uses it was still hard to roll and we eventually gave up on the rolling pin. Didn't qualify for a refund or replacement because it was after the 30 day replacement period. Might just be one lemon in the bunch. If you order one and it is hard to use right away, then send it back before 30 days elapse, don't think it will loosen up.

I liked it, at first. Problems after a couple months of some use
Had this rolling pin for 3 months now. We make pizza once a week (6 personal sized), that’s about all it’s used for.I like: the size, 11 3/8 inches wide. Oiled with food grade oil (avocado I think) and it’s pretty.I don’t like: the plastic end caps (holding in the rolling rod) come out and then they stopped staying in altogether. Super annoying. My husband epoxied them in. Don’t love that near my food, but they haven't come out again. The metal rolling rod bends as I roll. I’m not trying to be especially aggressive, just applying some pressure. I’m not sure how long it will last.I want to like it, I like the wood, but 3 months in and already having issues. Guess I’ll have to buy higher quality next time. I’ll be looking for a stronger rolling rod and end caps that can’t fall out.

Heavy, Beautiful Rolling Pin
I am very pleased with this rolling pin. After using lightweight wood & plastic pins for so long, it's great to have a rolling pin with some real heft. The roller and handles are made of solid beech wood, and very beautiful, but the spacers between the two are plastic, so here's hoping the hold up for the long haul. The width of the roller is a nice feature, and the handles are large enough to get a good grip with a full fist. Unlike some of the other pins I've used, this one doesn't have a loud squeak when it moves. It's quiet, heavy enough to take some of the burden off the baker (as you don't have to use as much pressure,) and the Martha Stewart monogram on the handle is a nice little touch. With proper care and from the quality it seems to carry, I think I'll enjoy using this rolling pin for many years to come.

Nice for the occasional baker
This is a big rolling pin! And a great value at the current price of $19. It's heavy enough to take some fatigue off your arms and shoulders when rolling out dough, but not so heavy as to be truly cumbersome. The wood is not as smooth as I expected. It's not exactly splintery, but it's got a noticable texture. It takes more effort to clean for this reason. I have very delicate skin from a connective tissue disorder, so the handles would rub my hands raw if I was baking all day. Fortunately, I only need to use rolling pins occasionally or briefly. All my other pins have smooth barrels and smooth handles, so it seems strange this one was manufactured this way.I also noticed when rolling across a smooth table that the barrel or rod isn't completely straight, as it wobbles slightly. It's not a total deal breaker, but evidence that this is more of an economy pin than a premium product. There are plastic connectors next to the handles, which I am guessing will be the first thing to wear out. This is a fine product for the occasional baker, but not a professional tool or something I'd pass down to my kids.

Fantastic, extremely good quality rolling pin
I love to make cookies with my kids. Somehow, my last two rolling pins ended up cracked, dented, and rough. Since I had to throw them away, I wanted to find a better quality one that would hold up better. This rolling pin is a game changer, quality-wise. It's extremely well made, very large, very heavy. It rolls smoothly, and the beech wood surface is very smooth, so dough won't stick. The weight and size of this rolling pin makes rolling out dough nearly effortless. I'm thrilled with it. I expect that this will be the last rolling pin I'll ever need, the quality is so good. Great find if you want to upgrade your baking game and invest in a chef-quality rolling pin that will last.

solid quality
you definitely get what you pay for, this is a solid, quality kitchen tool and you will not be disappointed. I don't think Martha would put her name on anything of lesser quality, this is the real deal. Heavy, rolls smooth, well made rolling pin. And it is huge too! For some reason, it also came packaged as if it were made of glass lol. I received a candle, a class rose, and a candle warmer in another box, no padding to protect them, same day....this had a ridiculous amount of bubble wrap and it was alone in a HUGE box. I am sure this makes sense so someone in the packaging world but...anyway, the rolling pin is great!
