I'm 86, only have use of one hand (stroke), retired mechanic, DIY person. I like to work in my garage/machine shop. I wish I could have had a little hoist like this long before now. I put a small U-bolt in a piece of angle aluminum with a rafter hook at the other end & I can easily hang the hoist wherever I need to lift something. I just finished replacing the batteries in my large mobility scooter. It's a Motorcycle Wannabe with a very heavy seat, a luggage box in back, A lower body section & 2 large batteries (the size of car batteries). Without this little hoist, it would take 2 healthy people to handle the seat & pretty strong back & arms to lift the batteries. Well, it took me 3 days, but I "got er done" The hoist functions exactly as the directions outline. It's light enough to lift with one hand & hang on the U-bolt. It easily fits into the included soft pouch (including the chain & hooks). The pouch has a flap with a strong Velcro closure. I did remove the spring loaded safety gates on the hooks though. They served no purpose for me & I couldn't lift the hoist & squeeze the gate with one hand. I get a lot of "stuff" from Amazon. Some of it good, some of it great, some not so good. But, for me, this thing is outstanding. I'd give it more stars if I could.

Easy to setup. Simple to use. It performed the task I bought it for without a hiccup. I am not looking for other things to lift!But be safe with your setup and always be careful lifting anything. Nothing is failsafe.

The product is really convenient, easy to carry in the pack as shown in picture. I use it to work in my warehouse and it is really convenient and helpful in lifting objects, especially when no one can give a hand. By the way, one should be always careful when lifting heavy objects.

We use it to hang our hogs come butcher time works great that. Hogs run about 250lbs holds them no problem

It seems to be decent except the ratcheting handle gets jammed and won't ratchet the other direction very well.
