Flirty & bookish!
I love reading, it’s like my favourite thing to do. So when I saw these on my fyp I added to cart immediately. Side note: I am a big big big fan of smut and romcom books. This one leans to the romcom side with a little spice. A flirty and light read. There is another book by Amy Lea called “Set on You” which is also part of The Influencer series but these books don’t need to be read in a particular order even though some characters are the same throughout. All in all, a great read by a fantastic Canadian author!

Cute and Quirky
Exes and O’s by Amy Lea is the second book in the Influencer series but can stand alone. I haven’t had the chance to read book 1 (Set on You) but I will be after reading this one. All in all, I thought this was really cute. It’s fun, quirky, and made me laugh a lot. The only thing that got a little old was how clingy Tara was. I’m all for reading about different types of characters and while I loved her for being unapologetic with her feelings some of it did make me cringe a little. Perhaps its because I don’t consider myself clingy like she was, and I’ve seen it in real time with other people- it’s not pretty. But because this is fiction and the book has a good message overall I was able to look past it.If you’re a fan of the roommates-to-lovers trope and enjoy a book that will genuinely make you laugh then I recommend this one! I know that the MC won’t be everyone’s favorite but she does have a big heart which truly shines on the pages. I can’t wait to read more from the author.𝗠𝗬 𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚: ⭐⭐⭐⭐𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗧: 🔥 🔥

My new favorite book!
My book was delivered on release day in good condition, read for my review:If you want to go into the book blind then don’t read ahead, just go, it’s wonderful. I don’t spoil anything that happens plot wise, just the theme of the book and what I love about the characters.I don’t know if I can write the review this book deserves but let me try..Wow, just wow. I have been excited for Exes & O’s since I read Set on You in June. Every expectation was blown out of the water. I connected with Tara in a way I never expected. From her love of books and romance, to her lack of friends as an adult, to her experience with ex-boyfriends.Going into this from the dedication there is talk of “crazy” ex-girlfriends. The stereotype we all know and I hope that we all hate. This book dives into the woman’s experience and the lack of communication while in relationships and when ending a relationship. People can have totally different perspective on things and it could all be solved by the other being open and honest throughout the relationship.Following Tara’s journey to find her true love I was a little skeptical. Searching through your exes for a second chance doesn’t seem like the right option to me but with everything Tara has been through she is scared and wants love without the risk. The journey starts right as she moves in with her new roommate Trevor. The first chapter had me DYING. From there their budding friendship was just everything to me. I adored Trevor. He truly feels like the perfect man. Although he’s a little closed off at first him opening up to Tara is the cutest thing. You can see that he cares for even if he won’t admit it. The fact that he organizes her books and reads with her is just melts my heart. I truly love how these two connected. Their story just felt so REAL.Now that I’ve rambled enough about my love for them both. Let’s talk about the epilogue. It was the cutest thing ever while also having Tara realize what a true relationship feels like. This quote had me sobbing. I felt it so much.“My entire life, I thought I needed to hold on to love with an iron first. It was a feeling I needed to trap, to smother, so it wouldn’t slip through my fingers. Little did I know, when you’re with the right person, being in love never felt like the bottom is going to fall out. It’s solid, stable, and indestructible.”I’ve definitely gone through life as the clingy crazy ex-girlfriend and I just felt so seen reading this. I grasped onto what I could get and held on for dear life and when they wanted to let go I was scared and didn’t see it coming. This quote explains perfectly what it’s like to be with the right person. I’ve never felt so safe in a relationship as I do with my boyfriend and it just melted my heart to read this. This book was funny and sweet while also having such an important message. I loved it so much. Definitely a new favorite of mine.

booktok romance
Exes & O’s was a great read: it was entertaining and super cute from the beginning! Tara is honestly super relatable (she is a book blogger after all) and I love how Trevor was able to open up about his feelings and took care of Tara from the start. This book was charming and sweet, and it left a smile on my face throughout reading it 🤍 I will say that it is a little predictable, but honestly I didn’t mind that one bit!!Also, there’s lots of Taylor Swift little references throughout, see how many you can find 😉I do feel like this book was missing something, though. It felt almost too written just for booktok and just to relate to that specific audience. I think that it was a sweet story and I enjoyed reading it, but I can't quite pin-point what I didn't like about it.3 ⭐️2 🌶️Tropes:- Forced Proximity- Roommates- Slow Burn
