Experimenting with Cross Stich Fabric
I have recently begun experimenting with dyeing my own aida for cross stich projects. In my experience, a little dye goes a long way for this purpose - I started with the recommended ratios and found that I can get the results I want with as little as a few tablespoons in a gallon or so of water in a pot of water on the stove. I have dipped and soaked pieces of fabric to see what happens with this fabric and I have been pleased with the results. If you do cross stitching, I will say that you shouldn't be afraid at trying your hand at it. The more fabric you have in the pot will affect the coverage - from a tie dye effect (a lot of fabric overlapping) to a solid color (smaller pieces that I have laid out in a bigger stainless-steel bowl), so be mindful of that. RIT is a good brand, and I have found pricing to be reasonable (shop around) so this is a good option for this purpose.

Beautiful results, despite not a long enough soak
After reading some reviews, I was pretty scared to try this... But I am soooo glad that I did. It makes me believe those who got "wonky" colors from this have the wrong fabric to use with this dye or they are dying something that isn't white. I tried using the washer method, and I say "tried" because I have a stupid washer and it wouldn't hold the dye and water for longer than 20 minutes, so I didn't even get to soak it for up to 30 minutes the way the instructions suggest. I also used a cup of salt per the instructions. I was dying a white sweater that is 100% cotton. I was nervous when my washer automatically drained the water early, but I had no choice and rinsed it in one cold wash cycle. I didn't wash it with warm water since I couldn't soak it as long. I ended up LOVING the way it turned out. There is a chance I may buy another bottle in the future to do another soak to ensure full saturation, as sometimes I can tell in certain light that it may not be fully saturated in some places because my washer drained the water so early. But this color is exactly as described, sage green. And even with the trouble with my washer, I still love the way it turned out. Now my favorite comfy sweater that I was nervous to wear because it was white is something I wear and enjoy all the time! So glad I went with my gut and took the risk! Make sure what you're dying is the right kind of fabric for this dye and if it's white, you should end up with great results. Thank you, Rit! Wish I could add a pic but I don't have a smart phone.

Not the color on the bottle.
This dye is not sage…which is a green color. It is more lavender/purple/blue. Definitely NOT the sage green color my daughter wants for her wedding. I will need to get another brand and a new sheet to try again. Not buying this brand again as the color is not correct on the label.

Not quite as dark as expected
I love RIT dye. RIT is always good quality and it performs well and lasts for a long time. It is very easy to use when you dye in the washing machine. I feel it's a little expensive for the size because you need more than one bottle if you are dying anything bigger than a pair of pants. I like the color but it isn't quite and dark as I expected it to be.

Definitely NOT sage green...
I've used RIT dye many times before, consistently successful.. This time.. as much as I'd like to say equally successful, I can't... The dye works fine... the issue is that the color is so far from the color I selected as depicted on the bottle.. This sage as you will see in my photos, came out a very pretty 'bottle green'... not even close to a soft sage green... It's pretty, but not as depicted... I'm leaving a second review for the taupe color I purchased with the same issue...

Beautiful color
Great color, bought for an earth tone for a green tunic to wear as an extra for The Chosen. Received many compliments on the color.

Amazing colour saturation, it worked perfectly on two test garments and sadly didn't take on the third garment of the same material that was actually needed in sage 😂
