When I saw the first song was "Silent Night," I must admit I thought, "Well, Josh has a very nice voice but `Silent Night' is pretty much the same whoever sings it." Well! I was so very wrong. I've never heard an interpretation as emotionally impacting as Josh Groban's rendition. It literally moved me to tears. Wonderful ... amazing.As I listened to the rest of the songs on "Noel," I found each one to be surprisingly "new" in his performance. He brought life to "The Little Drummer Boy" that I had never heard in this song. And "I'll be Home for Christmas?" Oh my. With the tracks of our troops commenting to friends and families back home, I was actually sobbing. What an amazing gift he has, not only have a voice that lingers in my mind but such sincerity and drama in each performance. He truly seems to "feel" the lyrics. Josh Groban is a miraculous talent.Before I had finished listening, I decided to send "Noel" out instead of Christmas cards this year. I want all of my family and friends to have this CD.My husband doesn't listen to much music either, but I had him sit alone at my computer and listen to "Noel." When I heard it finishing and came back to the room, he was wiping away tears as well. Oh my goodness, what a wonderful thing Josh Groban has done.

In his In Concert CD and DVD released in 2002, Josh Groban performed Jesu, Joy Of Man's Desiring and the CD bonus track O Holy Night, left us wanting for more of his glorious voice singing songs of the Christmas season. In 2004, we were treated to Believe from the Polar Epress soundtrack and last year a live version of I'll Be Home For Christmas. This year our Christmas present from Josh was the release of his first Christmas album, Noel. While neither of the songs from the In Concert and Polar Express are in this collection, there is a new version of I'll Be Home For Christmas with messages from those serving in the military and their families, recalling the technique used in Simon an Garfunkel's version of Silent Night. Likewise compare his interpertation of Silent Night to that of Florence Ballard of The Supremes on the CD Diana Ross & The Supremes Never Released Before Masters. While there are duets with Faith Hill and Brian McKnight and The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Guitarist Andy McKee as guest musicians, the best performances are the solo versions of Silent Night, Ava Maria and It Came Upon A Midnight Clear. His versions of Petit Papa Noel and Panis Angelicus will appeal to his fans around the world. If you are only buying one Christmas CD this year, this is the one it should be.

I am a devout Grobanite, and I'm so excited about this album. It delivers on so many levels. If you love Josh's classic, romantic style that he so often portrayed in "Closer", then you'll love Silent Night, Petit Papa Noel, Ave Maria, and O Come All Ye Faithful. My favorites are Little Drummer Boy for its almost celtic, adventurous feel; I'll Be Home for Christmas because in its clips of touching messages from soldiers to their families, it helps us to look beyond ourselves at Christmas and think of others who are going through a hard time: The Christmas Song is my favorite holiday song of all time and it seems like it was written for Josh; Thankful isn't 5 star, but it's a new song and it captures the spirit we all should have in us around the holidays; The First Noel is suprising with this unorthodox rendition featuring Faith Hill and a gospel choir; and It Came Upon a Midnight Clear for its incredible arrangement. Even though I never really liked this song, in the first few seconds you can tell its a keeper.So, by skillfully weaving traditional with new, Josh creates a beautiful album that belongs in every Chrismas music lover's collection.

Seriously, words can't describe how good Josh Groban's albums are!You have to experience them yourself. And you will wonder why you haven't listened to his music earlier!HE IS THE BEST! When I first heard his voice, my jaw droped to the ground, I immediately listen to more of his songs on youtube, and I knew then... I was hooked!Ever since the day when 17-year-old Josh Groban sang in public for the first time, he's continued to amaze with his gifted voice.Since then he's sold over 27 MILLION albums, all of his albums went Multi-Platinum.If you're still debating whether-or-not to buy his albums, go listen to samples of his songs on amazon/itunes, and you'll be hooked, just like I was.(Songs I highly recommend trying out first are February Song, When You Say You Love Me, Si Volvieras a Mi, My Confession, Bells of New York City, Happy In My Heartache, You Are Loved (Don't Give Up), Love Only Knows, Awake, Below The Line.)This is by far the best Christmas album ever, by the way. :)

excellent assessment of music. a few guest singers and even the Moron Tabernacle Choir. The only nit pick I could think of is it is a little inconsistent in volume in between songs.

レコード盤でジョシュのクリスマスソング、かなり良いですね！ジョシュの歌声は、歌い上げる声、優しく歌う声、それぞれの声がより生々しく耳に伝わり、厳かな曲、心和らぐアコースティックな曲、それぞれのバックトラックの楽器や演奏の美しさも際立っている。勿論主観ですが、総じて良いMIXとカッティングだと思う。心の奥まで、隅まで染みわたる名盤の魅力が倍増しています。

Amazing CD. Josh Croban's best yet! Even if you're not too keen on classicals - you will love this one! The duet with Brian McKnight is brilliant, & the duet with Faith Hill, the backing of the Mormon Tabernacle choir, and the addition of guitar accompaniment, gives a good variety of beautiful songs. I play it every day in the car since I bought it before Christmas. Never tired of it!! Highly recommended!! It was well wrapped by Amazon (as usuall) and was delivered within a couple of days! What more could you ask for!
