My first thought... not another golf training tool! But this one intrigued me... it has a wedge shape design which assists in teaching proper weight distribution for chipping. That's always a hard thing to explain or quantify... for example you're told to keep two-thirds of your weight on your from foot; what does that feel like? This trainer provides the feedback necessary to achieve that proper weight distribution. Place the trainer on the ground with the arrows pointed in the direction of ball travel. Place your feet on top of the waffle patterns imprinted on the trainer. Address the ball, then lean forward so the front of the wedge is just contacting the ground, the back of the wedge lifts off the ground. Get comfortable with your balance, then chip. That easy.I think this trainer is best for a beginner golfer, or a seasoned golfer who's starting to have chipping problems because their stance has drifted away from ideal over the years. If you're a 15-handicap and under golfer and have no issues with your chipping, then this probably won't help you, might even hurt (don't fix something that isn't broken). Also, this is a different stance than many of us have been taught to chip, so you may also be changing your stance. For example, I was taught an open stance for chipping, but seems this stance is now becoming the preferred way to chip.The trainer itself is well made, high quality and durable. The trainer weighs about 3 pounds and has a very sturdy feel to it. I think it will be helpful to improve my chipping game, and it has my recommendation.

This is one of those golf teaching tools that's so simple It's crazy It's taking someone this long to put this quality of an instructional item on the market. My shipping has been inconsistent over the past couple of years and I realized after getting this product that it's how I was distributing my weight when I was chipping and swinging my clubs. This chipping plate has allowed me to recenter and refocus on the proper way to chip a golf ball. I've been practicing with this now for over a month and I can say with absolute confidence that this has helped me become significantly more accurate with my chipping shots. This chipping plate does a great job of showing you how your weight should be distributed to help reduce the amount of poorly hit chips. I am more of a hacker than actual golfer, but felt this plate helped me learn the right set up and weight distribution to minimize the amount of poorly hit chips shots. In practice I have seen improvement, but the proof will be in the pudding when I am able to get out on the course and see if this translates there.The chipping plate itself is made of a very sturdy material and breaks down into 2 pieces that you can fit in your golf bag to bring with you to the range. I expect this plate to last a long while and hopefully lead to some improved golf scores this year!

I am just starting to get in to golf so getting training aides that can help me improve my skills when I have some spare time at home to do a little practicing so I don't look so bad in front of my friends and colleagues. I have been playing golf for 50 years and have had golf lessons when I felt I needed them. When you approach the green it will take a wedge shot. When chipping there is so many things to look for as to where your ball lies. Is it in the high grass on an upward slope to the green or a down hill lie. Your stance will change for each of those shots as well as type of club to use.I had to see what new cure all gadget was available for all chipping. I was disappointed as this machine was a new stance mechanism when addressing a chip shot. I found in my years of golfing, here is more than one stance you need to learn for chipping the ball onto the green.I tried this gadget in my living room and stepping on it threw me to my left side. I would have figured that out on any shot with on up-hill lie. Adjusted the body for an up-hill lie or down-hill lie, is part of golf you learn each day.The last picture says it all, as it was printed on the bottom of the box.
