Been waiting on this torch/flashlight for the best part of a year and boy oh boy, was it worth the wait?Out the box, it is reassuringly hefty bit of kit. Comes complete with a bespoke case for attaching to a belt via a studded strap. (No need to remove the belt first). Alternatively, there’s a “D” ring to which, maybe, a shoulder strap (not included) could be attached. A charging cable, instruction manual and paracord wrist strap are in the box.The torch, albeit angular, is surprisingly comfortable to hold and allows for a secure grip. The four main lighting settings are more than sufficient for my (and probably most people’s) needs. There’s an additional turbo mode which is BRIGHT. When using this mode, a cooling fan kicks in to help regulate the temperature keeping it to a reasonable level. Turbo mode will reduce after a predetermined time. There are 2 further modes, strobe and S.O.S. The user interface is simple and consequently easy to master/remember.The torch can be used, with an optional bracket, as a bike light. There’s a couple of screw holes on the opposite side of the on/off button to attach said accessory. Whilst the carry case is a welcome addition, it’d have been nice if a belt clip been included. I’m sure this could be attached to the same mounting points as the cycle bracket. Maybe this could be offered as an additional accessory option at a later date?All in all though, I’m thoroughly delighted with my purchase.

Following my original review I was contacted by Wuben customer services who have provided excellent support giving me confidence this would be a company I would trust to purchase from going forward. This torch was not for me and does not suit my needs, however it has found a new home with my partner and she loves it. Her requirements are different to mine. She mainly uses the torch to go to her car in the evening after work, after shopping or being out with friends. She likes the design, how it feels in her hand and the sense of security it gives knowing how easily it is to engage turbo mode. Her friends also love the design and at first they thought it was a taser 😁 I suppose if it fooled her friends close up then an assailant may think twice seeing it from a distance. She said if she had purchased it she would give it 5 stars so as she will now be the primary user I think it's fair I change my review to reflect this.Original review:I use a combination of head and hand torches 5 days a week from around 4am covering 12.5 miles through woodland, river banks and open countryside, currently monitoring swan's. A torch is a tool I need to rely on in all conditions and be easy and intuitive to use.The Wuben X1 was purchased at 30% discount from Amazon. I had seen lots of video reviews all saying how fantastic it was, mostly from people who had been provided one free by Wuben. I bought this with my own money.It is very well made, and the output seems in line with the specifications from the manufacturer. My video shows the medium, high and turbo modes or 5 hour, 2 hour runtime and turbo. For my purposes I would use it on the 2 hour or high mode occasionally switching to turbo. In early September when I write this I need to use torches for around 2 hours before daylight. In the winter it is around 4 hours. Here lies the first issue. The batteries are fixed and so after 2 hours I couldn't simply put a fresh set in. The second issue is that after a relatively short period it becomes awkward to hold, not uncomfortable but not as good as a round torch body. It also generates quite a lot of heat on high, at the moment I can definitely feel it however as it gets colder this could be an advantage, acting as a mini hand warmer. The case is useful, well made and fitted into my molle chest pouch securely. The lanyard supplied is no longer the one that incorporates the charging lead but is made from paracord. I thought I would have preferred this but it looks like it was designed by a 3yr old in a nursery competition to design a lanyard and wasn't even the winning entry.I would say this is more of a fashion gadget than a tool, something you could show off to your friends and light up the pub carpark or maybe pop into your man bag in case there's a power cut in your favourite coffee shop and you need to make an emergency escape with your Venti, half-caf, triple-shot, caramel, mocha, soy, no foam, extra whip, extra hot, upside-down, caramel drizzle, with seven pumps of caramel syrup and seven pumps of mocha syrup, double-blended Frappuccino.It does perform as described but it is aimed at the casual user that probably won't need to use it for more than 10 minutes now and then. I have added a photo showing it with some torches I use regularly for a size comparison.

good torch, sturdy build, pretty heavy which to me is a good thing, pleased with the different beams of light. will be handy in the winter dark nights when i go out to call my cats in,

Very bright torch, good battery, would like to have a battery percentage screen, but good product.

Great for caving and museum patrols.

For the money expected a little better. Its light output is not 6000/6500k it’s more like 5000k . Amazon description is wrong . It heavy and nice colour but wrong lighting output and general finish means I will not buy again.
