Best OBD2 for a fraction of the expensive ones and does everything and more. I’m very impressed with the capabilities of this OBD2. It’s an excellent product and has saved me thousands of dollars in repairs and maintenance

Easy to use, loved it

This scanner is great for the body shop. It lets you email and pdf pre and post scans, which you will need when dealing with insurance companies. It is definitely worth paying the extra $40 to expand its capabilities.

IF YOU UPGRADE THE SOFTWARE IN THE SCANNER ONLY USE A PREPAID DEBIT CARD!If you're familiar with Autel's scanners, this software is very similar. Excellent scanner for the price, but the caveat is that if you purchase upgrades in the scanner using a credit card, that info will be stolen. The language in the scanner is broken English, so that alone should throw some red flags.It's still a great scanner, but if you're wondering why it's so cheap it's because purchases made in the scanner will lead to you needing a new credit card.

I sure this device would be great if you had money to spend on all the hidden fees.Item claims its can scan a lot of different systems in you vehicle, that sounds great, but, this is a very misleading sales add, you cant scan all your car systems unless you buy all the extra software packages to scan all the other systems in you vehicle.So for the price, your better off paying a bit more for a obd2 scanner that come with the ability to perform a full scan out the box without having to pay for extra software downloads to scan other systems.As said if you have money to throw away after you throw away money on this item im sure it would be a great scanner.Other then that for the free option you get out the box, just go and buy some cheap scanner that does way more out the box then this restricted paywall scannerMisleading Paywall scam obd scanners.

This review is for the MUCAR CDE900 OBD2 Scanner.This product includes the scanner with integrated OBDII cable, a USB charging cable (power supply *not* included), and a set of "instructions" (if you can call them that--more on this below).Here's what I like about this scanner:- It's basically a ruggedized cell phone/tablet. It feels as if it can withstand the harshness of the garage/automotive environment.- The display is a capacitive touchscreen, so you can navigate on the screen just like you would your cell phone.- If you're wearing gloves and can't use the touchscreen, you can still navigate by using the large buttons below the screen.- It has the ability to update the onboard software over WiFi.- It has a built-in web browser.Here's what I think could be improved:- The single biggest issue is that there are no real instructions included with the device or available online (at least as far as I was able to find). I spent a few days exploring and eventually discovering the device's capabilities but still have the sense that there's more there than I've been able to find so far. A real set of instructions would have made this process a lot smoother and faster.- A scroll bar indicator on the side of the screen would be a welcome addition for those screens that extend beyond the display. For example, there's a lot more to the "Settings" screen than I initially thought. I finally figured it out, but a scroll bar indicator would have immediately alerted me to this.- The demo videos and demo vehicles included on the device are somewhat helpful, but they're buried in obscure places in the app. For example, to view the help videos, go to Settings | Repair Info | Videos. To experiment with the demo vehicles, go to Settings | Repair Info | Learning | click "Special function playback learning" | select desired vehicle make | select desired vehicle model.- Some of the demo videos and demo vehicles appear to be showing certain device capabilities that aren't included on the CDE900, or they're capabilities that require purchasing the available module upgrade. (Or they may just be features that I haven't been able to figure out yet because the instructions are lacking.) For example, the vehicle demo indicates that certain operating parameters of the vehicle, such as idle RPM, can be adjusted real-time via the CDE900. I searched all over the device, but couldn't find this level of capability anywhere. I suspect it's part of the available module upgrade, but I haven't been able to confirm this yet.Here's what I've been able to determine that the CDE900 can do out of the box:- Reads and clears DTCs. (Note: the device does *not* seem to be able to read pending DTCs; it appears that only confirmed and permanent DTCs will be read by the CDE900.)- Displays values for a large number of module parameters.- Performs a small number of diagnostic tests on compatible vehicles (e.g., O2 sensor, EVAP system).- Reads operating parameters and evaluates if they fall within the acceptable range.- Creates and emails vehicle-specific reports. (Note: these reports are limited in that they include only the module names and a green checkmark if the module is good and a red "x" if the module has a DTC or other error.)- Displays live stream data for certain module parameters.- Takes screenshots and records video for later viewing/playback.- Updates the device software over WiFi.As mentioned, I'm still in the process of learning this device, so I'll update this review if I discover something new and/or need to correct any of the information above. Overall, I think this device can be a worthy addition to your toolbox if you've got the time and patience to spend teaching yourself how to use it.
