Colourworks 2.8 Litres Collapsible Colander, 24 cm - Purple

Just what I wanted to keep the flies at bay while my chicken is on the defrost board as I have to leave it out on my worktop. Ever carefull when handling raw chicken, I have used a wire mesh food cover in the past but because it then went straight in the dishwasher it had started to go slightly rusty. This being silicone will be OK. The holes are small enough to strain rice but I would think anything smaller such a couscous might go through. Veg no problem. The fact that it takes up little room in the cupboard is a huge bonus.

There aren't enough holes so even when you think you've drained the water out there is still loads left in the bottom. To collapse and open it up is very stiff so we just never bother collapsing it anymore meaning it takes up so much space in the draw.After you've cleaned it thoroughly and it dries there are flakes of starchy water (?) all over it so you have to clean it again before you use it.

I bought this as a replacement for a previous one that split after a few years use. Unfortunately these do not last for many years and this is my third. I like the way it folds up for storage after use and this is a big advantage if you are short of kitchen storage space. It is stable when using and cleans up well. Just don't expect it to last!

This was a replacement for a metal colander that was bulky and difficult to clean. In comparison to my old one this is really easy to use and lightweight. I have a disability that makes my joints dislocate easily so I needed something that was lightweight and easy to handle. This has useful handles on either side so I can use both hands and it collapses down so it is easy to store in a kitchen that has limited space. No complaints from me so far.

The colander does not seem to have enough drain holes to allow the water to fully drain away properly so appears to be a design fault.Positive note very sturdy and well made and very deep to hold a large pan of draining vegetables etc. What a shame they could not have created a few more drainage holes to make this product perfect!

I've bought a green one, a blue one, and this red one.They are all fantastic objects – very useful. As in life-changingly useful.But this red one differs in a significant respect other than the colour.It folds out a little further than the other two therefore they are not all the same capacity despite having the same footprint!The small ones (Green, Blue) are 9cm tall, and this one is 11cm tall! It concertinas out further (and obviously back in)I find both sizes/capacities useful, but it would be nice to get accurate measurements simply so that one could decide which size one wanted a second or third of!Or fourth. Fifth...Very good product.

Easy to store, perfectly aligned with the colors of my kitchen. When washed in the dishwasher, being silicone needs to be dry with a cloth, otherwise the hard water in my place leave stains...
