It's good but will not detect signal throught thinking and is easily distracted buy other signal wiring.Don't be put off. I use this in the automotive field so I needed to make sure everything is disconnected including battery so the signal that is generated from equipment is pure.

Attach the crocodile clips to a dead electric cable and with the tracker, holding down the button, you can find out what electrical accessories are on a circuit and where the wires go. Saves time.Comes in a soft case that is OK except perhaps it is a little too large to fit efficiently into a tool bag/box. Could have done with something a little more compact. But, as I tend to do with all such devices, A thick woolly sock does the job as well and takes up little space.Also comes with a set of ear phones that allows you to hear the bleeps more clearly, especially if working in a noisy environment.

It proved essential in finding an obscure house wiring fault I had.

This device has two functions, data cable continuity testing and cable tracking. The first one I bought worked well for a couple of days - then the continuity testing failed. Then the cable on the crocodile clip attachment failed - way too flimsy. So I returned the first one for a no question money back return - and bought another.Almost exactly the same thing happened with the second one, except it failed quicker - got to test one home made patch lead, and then - gone. Will be returning this one, and given I have need of something properly reliable have shopped about and am spending a lot more money for the equivalent device from FLUKE.It'd be nice to say that this item would make a good addition to a home DIY data kit - and though it neednt necessarily be required to cope with the rigors of professional life, it should still last a few months, and get a few tests done and cables tracked. Sadly not - Im sorry to say its not even worth the low price - way too unreliable.

Worked perfectly. Just a shame it requires 2 9v batteries.

Excellent does what its spouses to do. I had similar one before which got pinched by someone so bought this one and it works and does well what its meant to. No negative comments, other than it doesn't come with batteries while most others do

Despute the checklist of items, no pp9 batteries included, so you'll need to buy some to do anything with it. Device is ok,. basic and yet to try it out in anger.

Good tone tester. Works well and has a nice case with it. I've not used the additional cables in it as I only use it for tracing network cables but overall a good product with no frills.
