Loved it!
It's always the quiet ones! Russ overcomes some rough things in life and Aurora is there to balance him out. This book is full of great banter, fantastic friends and a beautiful HEA.

Very cute, I liked that the relationship developed before the crazy spice
I enjoyed Wildfire even more than Icebreaker. It was still spicy, but I loved that the main part of the book was the developing relationship between Russ and Aurora. The setting is a summer camp with both Russ and Aurora are camp counselors (they didn't know this before the ran into each other at camp). There is a no fraternizing rule for the counselors and Russ takes rule-following very serious. Russ and Aurora take time to get to know each other and to share some details about their past which shapes who they are and where they think they want to go. Overall, it was a cute, spicy romance with believable characters and some fun side characters.

Camp love turned into forever.
It was very sweet, very timid, very nice. It was missing the passion from the first book. This was not a hockey romance at all as he never played hockey once during the entire novel. This was a summer camp love turned into forever. The storyline felt rushed at times, it lacked the detail and excitement from the previous book. Also I wouldn’t have picked Russ as the follow-up to Icebreaker, I was expecting JJ’s storyline or even Henry but not Russ. He’s cute and all but not who I expected. The spice wasn’t even as spicy as I expected from what was written in the previous book. All I can say is not bad but it could’ve been better.

adorable summer romance
A camp romance and golden retriever puppies? How does a hockey player get any more irresistible than Russ? A fun, quick and cozy read that makes you want to visit the woods.

So much better than icebreaker
This was a lot better than the first book. It was a fun, cute, fluffy book. I liked Russ especially; we got to learn a lot more about him in this book. It was easier to believe Russ and Aurora’s relationship and root for them since there really wasn’t any spice in the first half of the book other than that initial hook up. And without the spice, it was a lot more focused on the plot which was actually a more consistent plot line. The mcs in this series also have very healthy relationships with pretty solid communication. Any time there’s miscommunication between the MCs it’s resolved fairly quickly and it’s resolved because they purposefully try to sort out the miscommunication and resolve their conflicts like you would in a healthy relationship. This had all the good parts from icebreaker—an adorable man, found family (though less)—plus better writing and plot so I’d pick it up regardless of if you liked icebreaker honestly.

spicy & sweet
I read “Wildfire” as a buffer between books in a longer series I’m diving into. I wanted something light and easy to break up the intensity, and this book definitely did the trick. This book went a lot deeper with the subject matter than “Icebreaker” did. As a child of two parents who battle addiction, the lack of self worth that Russ struggles with was extremely relatable, and actually had me in tears at the end of the book. It’s cheesy, but also sweet and spicyyyy. I found myself smiling and chuckling at several scenes. Russ is such a wholesome guy, and I was rooting for him and his happy ending.

A Cute, Romantic Read with Some Spice
Aurora and Russ meet at a college hockey party and really hit it off ending in a one night stand. Thinking they would never see each other again, they are shocked when they discover they are working at the same summer camp together. Realizing they are still drawn to each other, they have to deal with the camp's strict no fraternizing rule. While trying to abide by this rule they also have to deal with each other's family problems. In the end they realize some rules are made to be broken. This is the 2nd book in the Maple Hills series and I liked this one better than the first one. Wildfire had a better story line, I think, than Icebreaker. This book was still very spicy but not quite as much as the first one. If you like a fun, romantic comedy that is an easy read with some spice, this is the book for you!
