Wish there weren't 4 ports
I'm not sure why this one has a different port for scan, length, cont, etc. Several times on my first job I said "oh no this wire is open! Oh wait I still have the wire in the scan port and need to move it to the cont port." Would have been nice if it used the same port for everything. It also used up the 9V in the wand very quickly. Not sure yet if it's just the battery that came with it or if it uses lots of power. Digital scan was weak, but Analog was loud.I used it on a new house, about 16 runs.It was a good value and worked well, if not the most conveniently designed.

Full feature network cable scanner, Does way more function than any other device available!
This thing is like a dream come true. The tone and probe function work like no other that has a analog and a digital mode. Not only that, you can scan networks, and even PoE networks with the cable attached to the switch and powered on. It will tell you what voltages is available on which pin. The transmitter will also determine the length of cable that you are scanning, and determine if there are any opens or shorts in the cable and tell you how many feet out the short or open is

You're not going to wire a commercial project with this, but for home/infrequent use, it's perfect
I recently started getting into terminating my own CAT6 cables rather than buying premade ones from monoprice/etc. I had one that I thought I messed up a few times on the RJ45 but then figured there was a problem with the cable itself.Got this tester and am really impressed with the quality for the price. It's no Fluke or other name brand equipment, but it's easy to use and very straightforward. So this run of cable I had, I tested it on continuity and wire 4 was showing open. I used the TDR test to test for breaks and at one end it said 21 feet and the other end 26 feet there was a break in wires 3/4. Measuring it out by hand, at 21 feet I came to a tear in the outer jacket, starting at the other end, at 26 feet I came back to the same tear. Perfect.I cut that length out, put RJ45s on the new ends and two fine lengths of cable resulted. I'm able to put my klein pull through RJ45 tool and some small bags of RJ45s in the case and have a nice self contained termination and testing kit.Unless you get one that's broken or DOA, there's no reason to not get this if you are casually troubleshooting or running CAT5/6 for a home or small project. Testing the continuity of terminations without using real network equipment to see if it syncs at 1gbps is really nice as well.

Installing for 20 years
This is a very nice, very versatile unit. All you need in one device. Only small issue is when tracing lines the sound the device omits could be louder. Great product I've purchased several for my crews.

Instructions
I wished it had better instructions.

Great with long term semi-moderate use
This thing does it all. I do a lot of low voltage work and this has become an indispensable tool for checking my work. I've used every function so far and they have all proved their utility. I would buy this again in a heart beat. To duplicate all the features you can easily spend 4x its cost.

OK for home use... but at that point do you really need one?
So yes, i didnt expect much but I did buy it for a small office since that would be a good test environment for it.1st the product is very weird. It has a dedicated port for every feature. Its east to DO the wrong test if you are not paying attention. The toner works... but accuracy and strength give me doubts. I was able to test this over a few runs, but i took me forever to find my tone. Usually, the tone sensitivy is pretty high on cheaper models, but you had to GET REAL close to the cables to get to it.The measuring was garbage. It can detect 15 20 ft cables with a 1st or 2 margin, but anything shorter or longer it wont.SURPRISINGLY, the cable tester did work OK, BUT only when plugged into a switch... I was able to identify a bad cable but only when it was plugged into the switch. When its not plugged it says the cable is OK... sus.Returned, will maybe shell out another $50 for a more accurate/trusted tool.

Well made, and suitable for cat6A (as well as shielded cat6 runs)
This works well so far. Tested cat6 and cat6a installs for continuity and it works well. Simple to use, clear backlit display and identified a fault in one of my runs straightaway. Opened up the backbox and sure enough, one of the wires had snapped when another had been punched in adjacent to it. A quick rewire of that module and all running well now.Comes in good packaging, and ships with a fabric case that is better than some I've encountered. Even has loops to hold spare batteries - which is a nice touch. The unit will test cat6A unlike others I looked at before buying this one. It has the ability to check the ground connection as well as pins 1-8. It can also test PoE and has settings to scan cables, ping switches to pulse the LED, and help you work out which cable is which in a bundle down some trunking. It has a patch cable to plug in but you'll need a second one to plug in the receiver unit, and tbh I use a longer patch cable to plug the main unit into the main plate too for easier positioning etc.Good value for money, so far it's been reliable and happy I went with it.I haven't been able to try its PoE test functions yet so just giving 4* for now, but will update once I've got to that part of the work.

Great Tester, Rubbish Toner
Bought as a all in one replacement for the separate cable toner and tester I had previously. The tester is great easily showing mistakes in cat6 termination or broken wires. The toner on the other hand is absolutely useless.Using both analog or digital toning failed to help me track a 30m cable at a patch panel.I got my old urceri toner and it was picking up the tone from over a meter away from the panel and was easy to home in on the wire.I checked on a known cable and this product only just managed to pick up the tone intermittently with the probe directly against the copper pair at the termination. So all in all. Great as a cable tester but useless as a cable toner.

impressed, very handy
Was not sure as low cost.Works really well. distance is v.handy. I put on new cat6 300m roll, despite saying only does 200m returned 292m. Other on 30m & around that seems v.accurate. Discovered a bad cable as length result showed 1 different.Continuity much clearer also. I have one of the basic testers that pulses through & so much easier to see pins lined up (or not as the case may be)V.impressed & doing a lot of new wiring & helped a lot!

KOLSOL 4 in 1 Network Cable Tracker PoE Tester with NCV & Lamp for CAT5e
good value for the money spent , only problem so far (only used once ) when on sounder trace , this unit does giver faults readings , more so if you are holding a bunch of cables at the time of tracing, (note to self) allow cables to be traced to hang free as any contact will allow a fouls signal to happen..

Good equipment.
We ordered these for someone else who is very happy with them. I cannot comment on accuracy as they have not said either way.
