A Pleasant Read
I enjoyed reading this and Katie O'Neill's previous book, Princess Princess Ever After. They're quick, cute reads, and while they both have heartwarming and almost emotionally soothing storylines, there's something about the author's storytelling that feels a bit thin, or like there are some things that were skipped over in order to keep the books short. In both books, I longed for more character and world development. They both feel like snippets of a larger story that I'm interested in exploring, but don't have access to. For these reasons, I wonder if O'Neill will ever do a longer form graphic novel. While I am a little underwhelmed by the story, I am completely SOLD on tea dragons and would very much would like a little green tea dragon of my own!

5/5 - Perfection!
Friends, this was the literally cutest and most heartwarming book I’ve read all year. Also, the art in this book is probably my favorite art style of all time. I recommend this with my entire heart and soul. This story is broken down into five parts; one for each season and then an epilogue. And during Spring, an apprentice blacksmith, Greta (who is getting trained by her mother), rescues a little dragon outside! Greta’s father recognizes the little dragon and knows who his owner is. And once Greta goes to return the little dragon, she gets an invite from the owner, Hesekiel, to come and learn all about the Tea Dragons!Tea Dragons are basically just mini dragons that grow different herbs alongside their horns! And all the names of the dragons are because of their different herbs. The dragon that Greta saves is named Jasmine, but we also meet Rooibos, Chamomile, and a few others during the duration of this book.Greta learns all about Tea Dragons, but also learns about a society that Hesekiel and his husband, Erik, are the last remaining members of. Greta also meets Minette, who is a young girl who was training to be a prophetess and is now having trouble remembering things. She left home, and is now working with Hesekiel and Erik, while also making a beautiful friendship with Greta. But this story is truly about friendship, and how important it is to find a place in the world that will surround you with unconditional love. This is also a story about honoring the past, and traditions, and cultures, and not forgetting where you come from. And ultimately, this is a story about balancing those two aspects and living a life that you’re proud of and that makes you happy.Overall, I loved this more than any word combination I could come up with. Friends, if you are looking for a beautiful book, with even more beautiful messages, that star people of color, and people with disabilities (someone in a wheelchair and someone living with memory loss), and LBGTQIAP+ characters, then look no further. This was nothing short of a treat to read, and I hope you all pick it up. Also, I desperately want my own Tea Dragon companion now.

A warm hug in graphic novel form
This all-ages graphic novel is like a warm hug from someone you really like and trust. The relationships and magic are more important than the light plot, but it's a story about Greta, an apprentice blacksmith, who meets a couple, Hesekiel and Erik, who own a tea shop and care for the small dragons who grow the tea leaves. Greta also becomes friends with Minette, their ward. There's queer rep, disability rep, characters with various skin tones, and of course the adorable and sweet tea dragons. My 10 year old son who likes a strong plot felt like "very little happened," but my niece who is a couple years older adored it. So did her mother and I. I just felt so calm and pleased with the world after reading it.

5 Platypires
I don't even remember how I stumbled across the website for this webcomic, but I was following the updates regularly for a while. I was just so absolutely taken by the artwork and the story. And when I found out the book was up for pre-order back in early September, I totally pre-ordered it. I needed to have it.The thing about this story is that it's really lovely and simple, but it's done in such a fantastic way that I fell in love with it. And also my 6 year old is starting to read chapter books, so I figured he's ready to read this. Because I need someone else to read and enjoy this as much as I do.I follow webcomics often, there's a whole bunch of them that I really like. But it's rare that I'll want a physical copy of a story even after I've already read it online. So that's how much this story stood out to me. I wish I could put into words how much I absolutely adored it.Although I'm not sure how likely it would be, I would very much love to see more from this particular world. But it's also perfect as is. I am also going to need to get her other book, Princess Princess Ever After, at some point in my life. I'll also totally blame the purchase on my son... even though both books are going to be staying in my room.Anyway, all of you need to read this one. Because I said. It's truly fantastic. Give into my whims!

Charming graphic novel with gorgeous illustrations
The Tea Dragon Society by Katie O'Neill is a charming graphic novel with gorgeous illustrations and a story that has a lot of heart. As a tea lover, I found the tea dragons delightful. They're little dragons that bond with their owners and when they're properly cared for, the leaves, flowers and berries that grown on their horns can be harvested to make amazing tea. I would definitely want to try some of this magical tea if it were possible. The beautiful artwork (swipe to see the end pages and a sample page) was a perfect compliment to the touching story about friendship, found family and love. An all around feel good book that has diverse characters, The Tea Dragon Society is one of my favorite graphic novel reads this year. Pretty sure I will be rereading this one, and I look forward to the companion novel The Tea Dragon Festival. I have a copy of Princess Princess Ever After which I'm excited to read, and I'm hoping I can find a copy of Aquicorn Cove here in the Philippines.

I want a tea Dragon
I loved this book so very much. The characters are charming and the story is very sweet. I want to learn to look after a tea dragon. The gender identy of the characters and the depiction of love and recovery. Get this book if you like Tea, Dragons, gender fuild stories, queer positive stories, friendship. Love that is not is not a poor romantic cliche

Beautiful must read
Beautiful. What more really needs to be said about this story. As someone who loves the skills that are often lost to the current modern society, this book speaks to a little voice inside me. It is gorgeously drawn with characters that are well fleshed out, enchanting and it will draw you in from the first page. Dragons, mythical creatures and a little girl who is willing to learn, make friends and support those in need.I was drawn to it by the name but also because I love tea and have a book that can show the love of looseleaf that is lost today to many. Definitely worth a read. I am pretty sure I am going to be recommending it as soon as I finish this review.

Heartwarming series intro
The past must be kept alive and great knows this more than anyone- taking up her family trade no matter how outdated it may be. This may be why she falls for the Tea Dragon Society. Finding a lost tea dragon and reuniting it with its keeper, she is invited to join them in looking after and cultivating the dragons and their tea. But the people kn the society are as fascinating as the magical dragons they protect. This volume is an adorable introduction to the world of tea dragons, setting up a fantasy world rich with diverse and interesting characters. I love the artwork which is simple and sweet but captures the beauty of the setting. The characters remind me of a combination of Steven Universe and Studio Ghibli anime. I feel invested already.

Beautifully Built Escapism
I actually only read this as a potential gift consideration since it is absolutely adorable (much more the gift recipients style than my own) and on KU so perfect try before you buy.So despite it not being to my usual tastes I now need to purchase 2 copies one for the gift recipient and I absolutely need one for my own collection.I was expecting a real surface level fluff, maybe some cute artwork but thats about it. There is far more depth & beauty to the story, characters and artwork and yeah I'm having a somewhat emotional day, however I may have had the eyeballs prickle a little during this. And I will leave it at that.

I want a tea dragon!
I've heard wonderful things about this series and I'm so glad I finally picked it up. It's an absolutely beautiful story. I love that it covers so many topics in such a short span of time, the various stories we got about the society members were beautiful.I need these books on my shelves immediately!
