I have slowly amassed a good variety of adhesive tapes for all types of applications. I generally use double-sided that has that white coating that sticks mushy like and tends to get filthy dirty over time not to mention the mess when it comes time to remove said two-sided tape. I ordered the GLUIT New Double-Sided Heavy-Duty Tape to see for myself if this adhesive tape does work like that white mushy tape that I am so familiar with.This heavy-duty two-sided GLUIT adhesive tape is clear and transparent to look at seems just as strong if not better in the sticky category and can easily be removed and then reused (think savings). Made from a Non-Toxic Gel-Like Material distinguishes this tape from others that do similar task although this tape has an advantage of one removing, washing, then reusing the tape if wanting/ or necessary. It is strongly advised to make all applications of this GLUIT adhesive tape on a flat clean surface area. There are several Don’t Use Warnings - Do Not apply to Painted Walls, Wallpaper, Stucco, Cardboard, Dusty-Wet-Flaky-Stucco like surfaces … either damage to surface or failure to adhere will result if used in the Don’t Use offerings.There are however numerous other applications that this heavy-duty two-sided adhesive tape CAN BE used on – Glass, Metal Plastic, Marble. Plexiglass, and even wood surfaces. Rated for holding power over 17lbs. (maybe if one would use all 10ft of the tape for one application) I did not get to evaluate that claim. I would imagine that light to medium weighted objects limited in size would be smart if anything heavier I would use hardware components to secure to a surface. My purpose for use was to secure, attach, adhere LED Strip Lighting to the interior of my vehicle. The lighting came with cheaply made small, packaged adhesive that has no holding power or longevity. I had no desire to drill holes underneath my dash or along the pillars of the vehicle, so this GLUIT Heavy-Duty Two-Side Tape was the perfect solution and it worked Perfectly!Since then, I have found other small projects for usage – securing wires and a surge protector/ extension outlet underneath my desk, hanging the kids pictures on the side of the fridge, I even attached one of those small magnifying mirrors to the bathroom vanity mirror instead of using the suction cups that seem to suck at staying attached to the mirror. This is a good tape, and this type of tape can come in very handy. Let me tell you what I like and what I do not like about this particular tape. This clear gel tape has a nice thickness and flexibility. I like that it is clear and colorless, which makes for a better appearance when it is used. It has pretty good adhesion to smooth surfaces, and as the instructions point out should not be used on painted or drywall type surfaces as it is likely to remove some of that surface if you need to remove this tape later. Thick flexible gel tape like this is useful for sticking solid objects to smooth surfaces, and definitely works better than using a flat thin double sided scotch tape for that purpose. I do have one other brand of similar tape, and I think the other brand may be a little bit more sticky, but this one does stick well. I like how this double sided tape has a protective plastic sheet over one side, so when you unroll it that exposes one side, and you only have to peel the one other side and the protective sheet does peel off easily, which is nice and makes this easier to use. My primary negative is how this comes in a less easy to use set up, in that these two rolls come together in a single zip-close bag, which is good for keeping them clean, but is less friendly for storage with my other tape and tools, and I would prefer a storage box instead. More important to me, though, is that these rolls did not come on a reel and specifically that means that the edges of the tape are exposed aside from a flimsy sheet of plastic, something like a thick Saran wrap, covering the sides, to keep dust and hair, etc. from sticking to the side of the tape. My other brand of similar tape came on a reel that included plastic sides to protect the edge of a tape, which is just better looking and easier for storage and easier for using when cutting off a new piece of tape, as the reel is easier to unroll tape from as opposed to having to unroll it from within the two pieces of saran wrap plastic surrounding these rolls. I suspect the saran wrap sides were meant to be removed on receiving the product, but I do think that the exposed sticky edges of this tape will become dirtied, so I am leaving the plastic wrap on the sides of the rolls for now, until I figure out a better way to store these two rolls of tape. I do very much like that this set includes two different widths of tape. So, I do definitely like this tape, and I will put it to good use. I am attaching some photos so you can see exactly what I received. I hope this information might be helpful in your search for gel tape. I do wish that it came on a dispensing reel with protection for the edges of the tape. Aside from that, I do like it.
