So far I really like the VBR-100 Plus. When I bought my lights I knew they were overkill but without a light meter I was in the dark knowing what my actual ppfd readings were. The only PAR maps for the spider farmer G1000 were at 12” in a 4x4 grow tent. This tool allowed me to map my room and better understand my grow area. I immediately went for max ppfd near light center and found that at 24” light hight I was seeing 1550ppfd. A friend with an Apogee PAR meter offered to buy a VBR-100 and check its accuracy. My only complaint so far is the location of the power button. It is far too easy to accidentally turn the unit off when picking it up to move to the next location while recording data for the grid. Currently the app grid function is limited to 6 rows x 6 columns max. It would be nice to have a larger grid capability. If the accuracy is reasonable this is a great tool to have!

This is very easy to operate. Very useful tool indoors and out. It takes away from the guess work on grow lights. It measures the total par and how much of each spectrum is present.

This is the first par meter I’ve used so I have nothing to compare it to. It does seem to give stable and consistent readings with all of my lights. It seems to be well built and connecting to the app was simple.I’ve been using it for seedlings. I have my light at 250 par according to the app and the seedlings are happy and growing just as expected. I can’t say there’s much more they could do to improve it. Overall I recommend the purchase if you don’t want to drop hundreds of dollars on a basic digital unit. I’d definitely buy it again.

Not worth anything if you follow this your plants will catch fire before you get to 600 ppfd by it's measurement better off using a soil and moisture probe that gives light energy don't buy for horticulture basically my cheapo moisture meter said over 600 and this said barely 400 as it's a floating number and my plants started to get light stress but it's not that its reading under by at least 250 ppfd it's that it's a sliding scale it might be close at 100 but the the more you need to know the more it lies
