Office Hippo Rectangular Cantilever Desk, White, 80 cm

I've been looking to replace my single shared desk with 2 individual desks for home use and while i'n not too fussy on what to replace with i was looking for just some plain/generic but reasonable quality desks.cannot really fault this desk. Easy to assemble, enough room behind the modesty section when the desk is against a wall to mount mains extension cables and cable management trays to keep wiring off the floor and the surface doesnt appear to be too fragile.Due to the design of the heavy duty legs, the modesty board is a bit too far forward in my opinion for taller/longer legged users so depending if you stretch your legs out this could get in the way. I've been using the desk for a few days and it's been less of an issue than i expected when assembling it. IT would be nice to see the desk revised and the board moved back 4". a bit more stretched leg room, but also retaining enough room for adding your own cable trays/management system when mounted directly against a wall.I'm also using this with a clamp style dual monitor arm. the top board is plenty strong enough to cope and theres no perceivable flex when using the desk. perfect for those that demand a bit more 'solidness' when using the desk for more than basic computer use.very happy with purchase and no reservations recommending this desk. Gray Oak was second choice to Walnut which was out of stock at the time, but now i've got the desks installed they look better than expected.

Brilliant buy couldn't be happier with it.Self assembly wasn't so bad. The instructions were easy to follow. All you need a Philips head screwdriver and you're good to go. It is very heavy however so if you're not so strong or have mobility issues you're going to need a friend to help. It fitted together perfectly took 20 mins or so to put together and came out solid as a rock. All the parts were in good condition and perfectly aligned.The desk lip at the back is quite deep which is great for mounting all sorts of clamps on. I have a manfrotto super clamp I use for a camera which is really deep so if it mounts that it'll mount any monitor arm or accessory easily. This has been an issue with other desks I looked at.You'll happily mount 3 monitors side by side on the 2 meter one and have room to spare for audio interfaces or other stuff.On top of the desk on each side are two cable ports under those are a cutouts on the backside so you can thread cables to the front or back side of the desk. I would recommend getting longer cables (2m power and video card ones specifically) for your monitor as the cables run is long if your PC is on the floor to one side. Also USB extensions might be helpful if you have cables under a length meter on peripherals you want on the desk. Get some zip ties too!

Update: “Proper customer service!”Having seen my original review, someone from Office Hippo took the time to get in touch with me and offered to look into the issue.They have since confirmed that it was a picking issue and the wrong parts were sent out by Amazon (who fulfilled the order).I have the correct legs but the wrong desktop! This one is meant for the goalpost legs not the cantilever legs that I purchased, hence they don’t fit together.They company are going to be sending out the correct desktop later this week.I have updated the score to reflect this, as it is a lovely desk and will be even better once it’s properly together.Picking errors happen, what impressed me here is that someone from the supplier took the time to contact me and sensibly resolve the issue it without me having to send everything back.Thank you.———————————————I’m sure the desk would be great if it was possible to assemble it.3 boxes arrived and everything looked good. Tabletop - yes, privacy screen -yes, Legs - yes, screws - yes, 10 bolts and 6 nuts - yes.Following the instructions, I quickly assembled the legs and the privacy screen.The problem arose when I tried to connect the desktop to the legs. The bolt holes didn’t align with any of the captive nuts. Now, the legs only have 4 bolt holes and 2 on the privacy panel but the desk has around 20 captive nuts - presumably, this is so that the desktop can be attached to a wide variety of different leg combinations. Oddly, just not the ones that they sent, which when I eventually measured them, appear to be around 4cm wider than they are meant to be.At this point I try to contact someone to arrange for the correct legs to be delivered.However, that is not possible as the customer support autobot is only giving an option to send the whole lot back, wait for the refund and then re-order my desk and wait some more.Making this all the more annoying is that the desk is no longer on offer, so getting a refund and replacement would leave me out of pocket.The only sensible solution I have left is to drill new holes and fit my own captive bolts and make it work. I’m sure this will give me a sturdy and reliable desk for years to come, just a shame I have to waste time and effort to do so.

Took my old desk down before i checked arrived with a crack in desk which is situated at the back so you can not see and does not effect Sturdiness suspect it happened in courier. Overall quality product lots of leg room and space on the top.

Lovely desk, but sadly it was damaged on delivery and Amazon ignored my delivery instructions which they asked me to add. I tried to contact them but they ignored my calls and so I gave a thumbs down for delivery but then it said I was too late to review. Not happy with Amazon on this occasion.I contacted the manufacturer direct and they informed me that if I had ordered it directly from them it would have arrived undamaged. The manufacturer was very kind and offered to send a new desktop or £50 refund out of their pocket. On this occasion Amazon were at fault and damaged an expensive item but didn't help me at all, just took my money and ran basically.
