Love Oreck cleaning ability to suck up dirt and cat hair from thick wool area rugs, with auto adjustment to clean hardwood floors. My only complaint is that it's noisy, but what vaccumn is ever quiet? I bought the Oreck to replace a 2 year Dyson. To clean a Dyson plugged up hose, I first had to remove the botton, using a tiny computer size screwdriver (which took more than an hour).I was also instructed by Dyson cs to use a wire coat hanger to clear the hose, big mistake because it poked a hole through the plastic, hence the service repair which means a UPS drop off and at least a 10 day wait. The Oreck requires no tiny screwdriver's to open the machine, and/or clean 3 additional filters that require a tiny screwdriver.Oreck cleaning bags are large, easy to order online replacement parts (no UPS shipping just for a clogged hose). They are huge! But I was told not to let them get anywhere near the fill line. It will make your Oreck lose suction if you don't change them regularly. I got 50 bags for 30 bucks extra with my Oreck purchase online. I thought I was getting a good deal. Not! They are everywhere for 14.99 for 25 bags. And after I bought them, I found out there is a HEPA type bag for my Oreck. I would have got them instead. A little research on YouTube showed that these bags are very bad. Most vacuums spew 100 parts per million or less of dust through the bag or cup. These spew 3600 parts per million of dust! That is awful. So I haven't used these yet. I will keep them for back up and buy the better HEPA filters. Hope this helps you.

If you own a Oreck XL 2 like I do, you will notice right away that these bags do not fit. These are not type CC bags that fit the XL 2. But since I was young and dumb I was using this bags on my XL 2. The problem is with the bag holder/docking station that is hinged and normally the bag slides in and you close the latch. I noticed that the CC bags are over twice the money are the XL bags. So, I was thinking about getting a commercial machine and just using the bags I bought. After taking the bag holder off my machine, I just pushed the XL bag on and since I used 409 and a garden hose to clean the outer bag, I tried vacuuming without the outer bag and without the bag holder. The XL bags work fine if you make sure it "clicks" on over the vacuum outlet. Put the top on first and the pull down around the bottom, and you will feel it "snap" into place.

Nothing cleans carpets amd hard floors like a commercial Oreck brand vacuum. My family has had several POS vacuums over the last decade but I can never forget the first time I plugged in my Oreck. We have two long hair cats and a neurotic dog and they all shed a pound of hair a week and I could never get it all off of my rugs until my wife was gifted an Oreck from 1999! I mean come on its 20 years old and it beats the stuffing outta every "bagless" modern vacuum. The bags are cheap when bought in bulk and I highly recommend buying yourself an Oreck Vacuum today! Trust me, your spouse, kids, parents, roommates, and friends will thank you for the lack of allergy irritating dander all over your home.

These Oreck bags are great! We picked up the 25 pack about three years ago for our 2000 series Oreck upright and still have a bunch left. They last a while for home use and simply install on the plastic bag tube (on the top) inside the vacuum. These are the standard bags and as a result, suction is pretty good. I live in a house where allergies are a concern and these have been sufficient in that regard. Oreck sells a HEPA filter bag that I feel sacrifices a bit in suction power due to the lower breathability of the HEPA material. These are good bags that last a while and are simple to use for a great price.
