Great piece of kit. If you have a suitable optical drive (I had one reclaimed from an old PC), installation is a doddle, and this enclosure is nicely built and works perfectly (on Windows 11 in my case). My main reason for wanting it is to still be able to rip CDs on my new optical drive-less PC, and it works exactly as I expected/hoped. My old drive still rips at high speed (I watched it go up to 37x in my first test). DVDs and Blu-rays play fine with a standard player app. The enclosure comes with USB3.0 cable, screws and screwdriver to secure the drive, and rubber feet. The only frustration is that it comes with a US plug, so you'll need a UK-US plug adapter. UK mains voltage/frequency is fine.

Solidly built from aluminium extrusion. Four nice rubber feet seat it firmly on top of my computer. It is fantastic for bringing back to life an old cdrom, and ripping your cd collection to Flac format. It does require a us to uk plug adaptor but the power brick does work on uk voltage and frequency.

I needed to Blu-Ray/DVD rewriter for my new gaming PC, but did not have a suitable drive bay in my PC case, so I opted to convert an internal Blu-Ray player/DVD rewriter I had from a previous PC to an external drive. On opening the box (see pictures) all the tools, screws and instructions were provided, however the power supply was a USA 2 pin. I already had a US to UK convertor and proceeded to build the unit using my Blu-ray drive. The instructions were very easy to follow and it didn't take much time to finish building the unit. However, on plugging in the drive, the Blu-ray player tray would not function properly and the disk I had inserted was very noisy when spinning. After a bit of trouble shooting I discovered the supplied US power supply must not be providing the correct output for my Blu-ray drive, because when I switched to a UK supply I had from another manufacturer the drive functions perfectly correctly. I would have scored 5* but the US power supply not working correctly and having to source a UK power supply instead, added extra cost and inconvenience to the project.

Excellent bit of kit, as with most new pc builds these days optical drive bays are not a thing. Rather than buy a second usb drive I decided to use my Pioneer drive from my old build. Slotted straight in then screw it in place. The power supply is as mentioned USA but I bought a 12v uk plug power supply with this. Everything works fine, drive found straight away on win 11.

It's way faster than a external dvd drive. Plus it's good to install game based discs that because the read writer speed is faster. My external dvd slim drive is way slower it took 3hr to install GTA V. Where as it took just over a 1 hr to install with 5.25" internal dvd rewriter with this enclosure

Ideal if you have a spare DVD drive [not the slim one]. Hoevere, very disappointed that it came with a US plug. Would expect that info in the description or a UK plug in box. It also very heavy and bulky. For the price you should buy a USB DVD drive [combined holder and drive].

It's a great enclosure easy to install the drive, well built. Comes with screws and a cute little screwdriver should you need it. My problem and if you're going to sell on Amazon UK it's a serious one - the power brick has a USA style plug. No UK adaptor even. So I can't use the thing until I get either an equivalent UK AC power brick or a US->UK converter. Either way it's more money, more waiting, and really annoying. Would otherwise be a 5* product, but this is really disappointing.

Well impressed with this. You just plug in the SATA cable that comes with the device then slot the drive in until flush. Plug and play USB, works great. Very stylish too, it's made of a nice metallic finish so it's a solid quality product.

Front and rear frames are made of plastic. Just the body itself is made of aluminum. Positive: The case also fits for longer DVD or Blu-ray drives. In regard of shipping to EU countries the provided power supply unit, which is not suitable for EU power connections, has to be substituted which generates additional costs - just to keep this in mind.
