Requires a bridge even if you own a Harmony Smart Hub
After receiving this I discovered I’d missed the small print that it requires a separate hub (from one of the expensive kits) EVEN if you own a Harmony Smart Hub. This is rather confusing because the Harmony Hubs are both WiFi and Bluetooth enabled so why can’t they function as the hub for these too? These buttons are not cheap on their own and having spent over £200 on a Harmony Elite, which has the Smart hub, I assumed I’d be able to simply add this to my system.I feel a bit bad this is not a real review - I was unable to try it - but submittibg anyway to feedback on the strangely limited integration with Logitech’s own smart hubs. Also, hopefully this helps someone else avoid the wasted time.

Nothing comes close to this product. However it's not perfect - but that's only because of the Android App when setting things
A year or so back i heard of this company that made bluetooth buttons called Flic. They make little buttons that connect by bluetooth which allows you to control various types of smart devices, which cab be as simple as controlling a smart light, to triggering some sort of routine that starts music playing, sets mood lighting and are fairly sleek looking for what they are. However I immediately returned them as I found them unfit for purpose. They were hundreds of dollars, and required a constant paired smartphone, to always be in close proximity to the buttons. They weren't smart buttons at all, they were just extensions of a smartphone app. I didn't have any plans to carry these buttons around the world with me as I travelled around, nor did i plan to buy a smartphone just to leave at home to have these buttons function without my presence. They were useful to me.So I gave up.It's only recently I became aware of the existence of these Logitech Pop switches. I figured - since they were on sale - I'll try them out. So I bought a starter kit and .. it refused to work. The biggest issue with Logitech Pop, is it's reliance on it's rubbish Android app. i tried everything to get it to work, it refused to progress through the initialization wizard. I saw many comments with the same issue in the Play store. I was all about to give up when I figured I'd try with someone else's phone.. and it worked first time. So your mileage may vary. however once I got the buttons paired to the hub, and set the action the buttons were to perform. i uninstalled the app, and everything works perfectly. I have the single press of the button toggle all the lights in my house beautifully. I have the long press of the button to turn off all music, lights and televisions of the house immediately great for going to sleep).I also have the double press activity reserved for getting home from work and setting up everything the way I want it to relax. I plan to buy more buttons for my house, I made the two that come with the start kit do do the exact same things, one by my front door, and one by my bed. But plan to buy more to do differing tasks in the future.I also have ordered more kits in preparation for gifts as I know people that would very much appreciate having a physical button to achieve what Amazon Alexa sometimes fails to understand.Logitech: Please make your app more reliable, then I can feel you've really earned this 5 star rating.

Lacking one critical feature..
The Logitech Pop smart switches lack one critical feature - an LED to confirm whether the task executed. For example, if you set a button to turn on the heating via a Logitech Harmony Hub, there's no immediate feedback - did it execute or did it fail due to a communications or activity error?

Worked at first, then stopped, item returned.
UPDATE 28/10/17: Well it was working well and then for some reason the button was deciding not to work in the early evenings, but working fine the rest of the time. Now it’s not working at all. I thought the lifx z was flaky but this is ridiculous when you pay 70 quid for basically a switch, you expect it to work. I’ve traced the fault and it’s not my lifx bulb but the pop itself, likely the bridge or the firmware in it, as all other ways of controlling the light work. So either this is a typically poor amazon warehouse product or the product line is poor. I’m taking three stars off this and can’t recommend. What a shame as there’s definitely a market for a physical switch that turns on IoT light bulbs. Returning item.Original review: I just bought one of these from Amazon warehouse, so an open box item but listed as good as new. Initially the connection to the network in my house didn’t work so I had to move it before the bridge connected to the WiFi. Then getting the buttons to connect to the bridge was a challenge, ended up having to hold the button a few cms away from the bridge and finally it recognised it. Dunno if this means the battery in the button is running low but it works fine a good distance away from the bridge now. You need to download the app to get everything set up but it’s pretty intuitive. I got this to control my lifx lights as a home brew solution using a hacked amazon dash button just was too unreliable. The lifx switches now turn on and off almost instantly. Having bit of difficulty getting the thing to set a colour for my lifx z light strip though, but you can’t have it all it seems - even when you’re paying 70 quid for a light switch...If you’re desperate for a physical switch for your lifx bulbs then this works but cheap it is not. Last time I bought something from amazon warehouse it didn’t work for long; will report back if this goes the same way.

Bought as interim physical button solution for Hive Lights, when paired with IFTTT.
This is a nice tool.I'm trying to make my home smarter (with Hive - through the use of IFTTT)I bought this item to physically control 3 x Hive Active Lights & 1 x Hive Active Plug.Button 1 has been configured with 3 functions in my home (though should only be 2 but IFTTT does not support "Hive Active Light Groups" - but I would say this is a shortcoming of IFTTT's integration to Hive than a problem with this product).I have configured as followsLight 1: (Living Room with 2 x Hive Active Lights)One Click > toggle Light 1Two Clicks > toggle Light 2Hold Click > toggle Hive Active PlugThis means that if I want to turn on both lights in one room, I have to click 3 times.Button 2 controls one other light and Hive Active Plug. This is fine.On it's own, the Logitech software is (in my experience) a bit basic and as such I would recommend only buying this if you intend to pair it with IFTTT.
