I suspect everyone has a different experience with this product, as the quality control looks suspect. Mine has gaps between the metal balls when idle, and as far as I know they are all supposed to be just touching the adjacent balls. When I trigger the end ball, the action lasts no more than six seconds, and near the end of that time all the balls are swinging, instead of just the end balls. The attached image shows the gaps if looked at closely. Ideally I would just move the strings closer together to solve the issue, but unfortunately the strings hang from a grooved slot on the arms, so moving them isn't really possible.** Updated **I have upgraded to three star since the customer service is really good. The seller offered a full refund immediately, which is about all I could have asked for.

The base looks nice and shiny, but know that it is a hollow plastic, and very light. Mine arrived with a slight ding in the base. It operates just fine. Probably would have gave it 5 Stars if it was $7.99I have updated review as I have been contacted by the seller and they have made good on the purchase. Kudos.

Loses momentum quickly
Very lightweight. Everything is made of plastic except the balls, which are some type of metal but still not very heavy. They click for MAYBE ten seconds before completely losing momentum and stopping. Very disappointing purchase and we will be seeking a refund. Only giving it 2 stars because it arrived fast and in good condition and looks like the photo.

Looks exactly as pictured, easy to assemble
This looks exactly as described, and wasn’t hard to assemble...but it doesn’t continue swinging as you would expect. Loses momentum quickly, disappointed my son.Update: I was contacted by Rorry due to my former two star rating of the product, and they offered me a full refund. Great customer service!

My daughter learned what it is like to have kids
This was a gift to teach my 8 yr. old grandson a bit of physics. The lesson he learned was not to keep it in his toy box. My daughter learned what it is like to have kids. I learned it was worth it. LOL.

Badly built
One of the strings broke but the other balls did not touch each other so it wouldn't have worked properly anyway. It's a badly designed piece of flotsam.

A complete waste
Don't waste your money...this was a complete dud. The whole thing is so light and flimsy and it never worked. I will try again in the future because I really wanted a Newton Cradle on my desk.
