I needed a replacement cord and the original price was a little too much. I waited until around the holidays and it went as low at $25 +. Works perfect thus far

Perfect replacement for my radar. Saved me from having to buy a new radar. (Which I did and returned the Escort Max ll HD Radar Detector.)I love the look of my Passport 8500 X50. It works well, if police have radar pointed normally I can pick them up 1-2 miles away. (1-2 bars), when they are 1 mile or less... it changes to 3-4 bars, until it maxes out.Of course there are the sneaky police that turn off and on or point their guns toward the road directly in front and hide in a u-turn area or behind trees. With those and lasers, you need to rely on an app.So, I moved to Florida.. my suction cups failed (old device had it for years). So, I bought cheap replacements at a local store... failed within a month. So, I used removable velcro (for hanging objects). Well, the oils in the dash did not like that. So, I could not remove it daily like I used to do.Well, the Florida sun took a toll and dried out the cable, I went to remove it to clean my dash, and the rubber and plastic fell apart. It must of tripped an internal fuse. I thought I killed my Radar.Bought the new radar... it was nice and came with some cool features. I used it's cable and tested my radar... it worked.So I searched online until I found this. 1 year later... I am still using and loving my Passport 8500 (Please make another updated version). New designs are sooo ugly. The 8500 and 9500 are sooo cool looking.

I am hesitant to buy another $500 - $600 Radar Detector and I still use my 9500 iX because Escort is still trying to figure out how to have the best detection range without getting false alarms from the increasing amount of vehicles equipped with Radar Active Cruise Control. It started with high end vehicles using K band and I have come across many new Honda's running Ka, which is typically used by law enforcement because it is more precise. Collision avoidance should be a precise feature so I case not hate towards Honda, but until they have a detector that stands out like the 9500 iX did as the Mac Daddy of All Radar Detectors (Escort's words) then I will continue hold of on upgrading. It is sad you have to have a trade off on the 360 Max, Readline, or the upgraded 9500iX, which has rollercoaster reviews.

I ordered this to replace my SmartCord for my Escort Passport 9500ix Red display. My original cord was the coiled kind with a USB slot built in. This was the closest cord that I could find for replacement. I looked at other reviews for another cord and realised the other one was not corded. I was able to find this one and I’m very pleased. It arrived very quickly and well protected. I included the packaging to show that this is indeed a legit cord from Escort and not a cheap knockoff. You have a choice to choose either red or blue LED light on the smart plug. I own both a blue and a red display 9500ix. Total preference but happy to see you have a choice. My original cord was damaged by water. I hope this review helps!

I bought this as a replacement for the power cord that came with my Escort radar detector. The original cord was well-made but the cable cracked and eventually broke near the connector that attaches to the detector. (The original cable lasted several years and it appears sunlight caused the eventual cracking.). This item appears to be an exact replacement for the original except that part of the cable is straight and the rest is coiled. (My original was all coiled.) I like having the mute button and LED indicator built into the adapter and that’s why I paid the money for this power cord.

The item is exactly as described and indeed the Escort OEM package, but I don't find it to be an improvement over the full-coiled cord in my Pontiac GTP. I understand the fit of this cord will vary widely by vehicle; this might be a vast improvement for you in your particular car, but it wasn't for mine.The coils of my previous full-coiled cord were easy to catch on the louvers of my dash center air vents to keep out of the way of my radio and A/C controls. The new straight section refuses to catch on anything and just hangs right in the way. Even more annoying, the cord is effectively shorter due to the straight end having no ability to stretch, so it rides over the top of my center console shifter knob where I often sit my hand. Luckily, my wife has an identical detector with the original cord in our Traverse and the fit of the new cord is less annoying there, so she gets the new cord and I took the old one. I wish I could buy the original full-coiled cord.

This was my first, and will be my last escort product and radar detector. When the Theia comes out, this thing will be a nightmare from my past.For EIGHTY EFFING DOLLARS, I get a new power cable that does NOT even have a USB output like the factory one did, and the mute button on this thing stopped working after barely TWO months. I'll say it again, $80! Mute button broken.Escorts build quality is total garbage. The factory one didn't even last one year before the whole thing died, forcing me to buy this new and even worse one.On the flip side, my wife's Uniden R7 is older than my Redline 360C, and her factory power cable still works. I'm almost on my 3rd now. Not to mention her radar is almost half the cost, and performs just as well if not better.Escort surely isn't long for this world if they keep charging these outrageous prices for their locked down products, while competitors keep coming out with superior products for less money.TL;DR: Do not buy this escort branded power cable, cheap garbage and does not last.
