Police Constable Nicholas Angel is the pride of the London Service, trouble is is that he is making everybody else look bad, so much so his superiors promote him to Sergeant in the sleepy village of Sandford, Gloucestershire. Yet all is not right with Sandford as the locals start meeting grizzly deaths, thus thrusting Angel into his biggest case so far.The biggest question on most film goers lips was could the pairing of Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg triumphantly follow the monster cult success of Shaun Of The Dead? Well the plot premise for Hot Fuzz hardly leaps out as something to grab the attention span of many, but they have crafted a tremendously funny film that winks at the action genre with genuine love and admiration.Simon Pegg and his trusty sidekick, Nick Frost, clearly have an earthbound appeal that many (even outside of Britain) can warm too, not pretty or over svelt, these guys are fans of movies making movies purely for the fans, and it shows. Neither Pegg or Frost try to steal scenes from each other, both men after over a decade of working together are clearly comfortable with their coupling and thus manage to fine tune their working chemistry.Once Angel (Pegg) lands at Sandford Village we are introduced to a ream of British Village stereotypes (archetypes actually), all characters ripe for hilarious scenarios that our fish out water (big city cop) Sergeant struggles to comprehend. We observe as he is dumb struck at the ineptitude of the Village Police Force (erm service actually) and is then forced to work alongside dough eyed Constable Butterman (a film stealing Frost). Angel's exasperation at where he finds himself is mirthful joy to us the viewers. The dialogue is priceless, one liners and hat tipping nods to the action genre come thick and fast, in fact you can watch Hot Fuzz repeatedly and play spot the homage each time. I mean come on people, we got both James Bond (a delicious turn from Timothy Dalton) and Belloq in here strutting their stuff. The action set pieces are not found wanting either, director Wright having the time of his life with the crash bang wallop that flows in the final third.The test of a great comedy is how it stands up to repeat viewings, to me Hot Fuzz delivers no matter how many times it is viewed. For even when you know what is coming up next, the smile on your face is already there before the event, wonderful, wonderful film made by guys who love movies as much as ourselves. 10/10

This movie had past my expectations!It's even more funny and action packed than Shaun of the Dead !Ever since seeing Shaun of the Dead and seeing spaced , I have been a huge Pegg/Frost/Wright fan !I love their wonderful blend of straight faced yet absurd comedy and stylish small budget yet big results type action.Their scripts also seem brilliantly crafted.The delivery of dialog,timing choreography and pacing of plot are all very well executed. It's a joy to watch this movie flow from scene to scene.And of course it is all very funny, while trying to keep a macho stiff upper lipped atmosphere. ( Not in an entirely serious way though )These boys seem to continue to give us great innovation through their style of British action comedy and continue to impress.I get oh so very excited when I see something new from them ..... and they don't do so many projects together, but when they do turn out something it usually is top notch stuff.This movie is about an overachieving police officer of London who has been recently promoted to sergeant.Unfortunately there are no sergeant positions in London ( Or so his jealous superiors tell him ), so he is unwillingly transfered to the countryside village of Sanford.This gives our hero with not a lot to do considering the low crime rate of the countryside or so it seems.Unlike Shaun of the Dead which I thought started off great, had a great middle and ended a bit anti-climatic .... Hot Fuzz seemed to be the opposite .... it didn't start off so great, built up great stuff during the middle and ended with a bang/ a huge payoff ..... which I suppose is a lot better.Funnily enough there a few scenes that contain the kind of gore in their last big movie, which almost seem out of place/over the top for a cop movie , but does add an eerie chill to it all.All in all another unique watch and it's good to see more action British movies.A must for British comedy lovers and regulars of the cop buddy genre will appreciate it greatly too.These guys are just such a unique kind of funny , it's hard to explain in words , so just watch and experience it for yourself.i hope the boys continue to put new spins on old genres and continue to gently poke fun at time while still creating a great movie for us that genuinely great in it's own right.Currently one of my top fav movies of all time. I can't wait to see what these boys get up to next on their next project together.

Exactly what you'd expect. It's the same sort of tone to all the other Pegg and Frost films, the world's end, sean of the dead etc etc. If this is your first Pegg and Frost film then...how? :OSo I'm going to assume you've seen at least one Pegg and Frost film, if by some miracle you haven't go watch sean of the dead then come back to me. But anyway, yeah, although the tone might be the same the quality isn't...it's better.I'm not a massive fan of this series of films, in my opinion this and sean of the dead are by far the best in this series of films. And I think that's all I really need to say. I'm not sure if I prefer this or sean of the dead, but at the absolute bare minimum it rivals sean of the dead in quality.It's hilarious, Frost plays basicly the same character from sean of the dead, fat, stupid and hilarious, whereas Pegg is thoroughly professional, married to his job but his character is just as amazing. The soundtrack, just like sean of the dead's is just amazing and feels perfect for this film.Do I really need to continue? It's sean of the dead...but about the police instead, and it's amazing. Though like I said, for me sadly the later films, the worlds end, the one where they meet an alien just pale in comparison.

Great movie

ストーリー自体非常に面白く、キャストも豪華でBlu-rayを買うに至りました。ただスタッフによる音声解説やインタビューに日本語字幕がつけられないのが非常に残念だと思いました。不満点はそれぐらいですね。それが出来るようになっているならまた新しいのを買い直してもいいぐらいこの作品が好きです。胡散臭いティモシー・ダルトンが堪らない(笑)21/06/18 追記DVDだとコメンタリーに字幕をつけられるらしいです。また、この前見返していて気づいたのですが日本語版の「この役立たずの扁平足共が！」というセリフ、誤訳なのかなぁと少し気になりました。flatfootsは扁平足の他にパトロール警官という意味もあるようです。

la coppia ormai consolidata de "L'alba dei morti dementi" si ripropone con un cast allargato e ancora più ricco. un film per una serata allegra e con una buona dose di humor inglese, che non scade nel volgare e che risulta estremamente piacevole.molto bella anche la versione in lingua originale, facile da seguire e molto orecchiabile anche per pronuncia

Irrésistible, « Hot Fuzz » est irrésistible. Après Shaun of the dead, l'humour Anglais de « Hot Fuzz » fait à nouveau mouche. L'histoire est un brin délirante mais l'intrigue est bien ficelée réservant au spectateur quelques belles petites surprises. « Hot Fuzz » fait également carton plein avec son humour franchement fendard, de l'action trépidante et même des petites touches bien gores dont l'une (la chute de la pierre de l'église) assez gratinée. Une réalisation énergique et un final de fou finissent de faire de ce métrage un divertissement british immanquable.Apport HD : Très bon. Pratiquement aucun défaut pour ce transfert 1080p. L'image est belle, nette et précise. Le niveau de définition est dans ce qui se fait de très bien en HD avec un piqué très probant (même si légèrement en dessous des meilleures productions). Les couleurs sont vives et contrastées et les noirs bien denses. Le grain argentique absent de nombreuses scènes est très discret et confiné ailleurs sur les arrières plans. Un transfert HD très réussi. Les bandes son en DTS HDMA en VF comme en VO balayent tout sur leur passage. L'emploi répété et intensif des surrounds fait vibrer les murs du salon. Quelques bonus (en SD) très sympathiques et intéressants concluent cette très belle édition Blu ray. Cette fois, Studio Canal a bien fait les choses !

Der erfolgreiche Police Officer Angel wird Dank seiner Verhaftungsquote von 400% über dem Durchschnitt zum Sergeant befördert und von London in das - höflich formuliert - ländliche Sandford versetzt. Denn ein derartiger Super-Cop lässt seine Kollegen eher dumm aussehen. Obwohl Sandford sowohl als das schönste wie auch sicherste Dorf Englands gilt, gelingt es Angel, noch vor Dienstantritt fast die komplette Gästeschar des lokalen Pubs zu verhaften. Derart (über)motiviert stößt der frischgebackene Sergeant bei den eher phlegmatischen einheimischen Gesetzeshütern auf wenig Gegenliebe. Zumal just vor der erneut anstehenden Wahl zu Englands schönster Dorfidylle eine Unfallserie beginnt, die Angel entgegen aller Widerstände hartnäckig als Morde aufzuklären gedenkt. Die Lösung des härtesten Falls seiner Karriere kommt dann auch für den unerschütterlichen Profi aus einer völlig unerwarteten Richtung.Simon Pegg und Edgar Wright lieferten 2004 mit SHAUN OF THE DEAD eine umwerfende Parodie auf Horror- und darunter vornehmlich Zombie-Filme ab. Mit größtenteils derselben Besetzung vor und hinter der Kamera versuchen sie sich mit HOT FUZZ am dankbaren Actiongenre bzw. dem Subgenre des Buddy-Movies. Wo sonst kann man hemmungslos übergroße Machohelden und surreale Materialschlachten besser veralbern? Gelungen ist dies dem Autorenduo Pegg (der wieder die Hauptrolle als ultracooler Officer Angel übernahm) und Wright (Regie) nur bedingt. Denn wer - dummerweise vom Trailer auf die falsche Fährte geführt, vom idiotischen, Bud Spencer würdigen deutschen Untertitel ganz zu schweigen - eine vergleichbare Krawallorgie im Stil der zitierten Michael Bay und Richard Donner Kracher erwartet, könnte herbe enttäuscht werden. Denn die Explosionen und völlig überzogenen Shoot-Outs (natürlich mit beidhändig im Flug abgefeuerten Knarren, die keinerlei Nachladens bedürfen) werden für den irrwitzigen Showdown aufgehoben. Davor gibt es eher verhaltene und für Kenner der Materie eingestreute Hinweise auf die Vorbilder - so bei der brüllkomischen Entdeckung des Waffenlagers, wenn das wohlbekannte LETHAL WEAPON Thema erklingt - sowie ein paar deftig-splattrige Mordszenen, die jedoch durch die staubtrockenen Kommentare der ermittelnden Dorfpolizisten ironisch gebrochen werden.Für Fans des Backpfeifengesichts Simon Pegg, der seine Rolle mit stoisch-ausdrucksloser Miene absolviert, und seines tapsig-sympathischen, intellektuell nicht übergesegneten Gegenparts Nick Frost ist der Mangel an Action jedoch sehr gut zu verschmerzen. Der Witz des Films ist nämlich viel hintersinniger, denn zum Einen wird das engstirnige und kleingeistige Verhalten des ländlichen Kleinbürgertums zwerchfellerschütternd aufs Korn genommen. Die Geschichte vom Stadtbullen, den es unfreiwillig aufs Land verschlägt, ist zwar alles andere als neu, funktioniert hier jedoch Dank des durchweg grandiosen Nebendarstellerensembles so perfekt wie schon lange nicht mehr. Abermals werden nur die Filmfreaks bekannte Bösewichter aus einschlägigen Genrevertretern entdecken: u.a. Paul Freeman (Reverend) aus JÄGER DES VERLORENEN SCHATZES oder Stuart Wilson (Doktor) aus LETHAL WEAPON 3 oder Kenneth Cranham (Reaper) aus HELLRAISER 2. Den Bad Guy in HOT FUZZ gibt mit sichtlichem Vergnügen der herrlich schmierige Timothy Dalton, der - soviel sei verraten - eines der wohl schmerzhaftesten und ausgefallensten Bösewichtenden der Filmgeschichte erleidet.Zum Anderen werden die oft überkonstruierten Drehbücher einschlägiger Actionthriller, die ihre bloße Schaulust an immer aufwändigeren Destruktionsszenarien mühsam mit vorgeblich ausgeklügelten Plots verkleiden wollen, verblüffend effektiv ad absurdum geführt. Wenn Sergeant Angel seine durchaus schlüssig vorgetragene Aufklärung der Mordserie um die Ohren fliegt, dürfte niemand im Publikum zumindest ein schadenfrohes Grinsen unterdrücken können. So wird man überhaupt während der gesamten Laufzeit überwiegend schmunzelnd denn schenkelklopfend dem Geschehen folgen. Die Gagdichte einer NACKTEN KANONE erreicht HOT FUZZ zwar nicht, aber weshalb sollte es nicht möglich sein, liebevoll schrullig gezeichneten Charakteren mit subversivem Humor genauso amüsiert zu folgen? Wer SHAUN OF THE DEAD liebte, der wird diesen in der gleichen Liga spielenden Nachfolger mögen. Alle anderen sollten sich die Frage stellen, ob sie die Kreuzung von britischem Humor und amerikanischem Eskapismus sehen wollen. Wer diese Frage mit Yepp! beantwortet, wird mit einer der besten Genreparodien seit Erfindung des Buddy-Movies belohnt.
