Love it. Never using foam again.
Bought this as I travel internationally for work multiple times a month and was trying to reduce what I take and stay within fluid restrictions. I've now used this with both a standard cartridge razor and a double-edge razor and it worked brilliantly with both. Just 5-6 drops applied after washing in very warm water led to an incredibly smooth and cut-free shave. Splash with cold water and moisturise to finish. Makes a lot less mess than foam too. It's got a subtle, pleasant fragrance and seems to leave the skin in great condition. Been using for a little while and I'm a complete convert. Bought a second bottle so I could have one in the bathroom and one in the soap bag that never gets unpacked.

Smooth shave
Generally I find creams, gels and foams dry my skin, so I prefer an oil.I have tried numerous oils all didn’t quite work for me until now. This maximum glide is amazing; 2-3 drops on your face and you get a smooth, clean and nick free shave.I shave my head which can be an issue; but not with this product. It really is amazing and good value for money.Give it a try you will not be disappointed.Use with Gillette Fusion blades for a perfect shave!

Shaving oil
Nice shaving oil that does the job. Having used this over the past twenty years I find it a really good oil and removes the need for aftershave (though you might use this for extra comfort when using cheaper blades)

Great Shave with smooth feeling skin after
I hadn't tried purely oil based shaving gel before, but I after I gave this a try, I was really surprised. It's a lot less messy compared to gels or creams and it leaves your skin feeling supple after shaving. All you have to do before you shave is, apply the oil, a few drops works, massage into beard, wait a minute or two then shave. I normally don't wash my face after as I like how the oil makes my face feel, it has this nice but fresh stinging sensation.

The best shaving oil on the market, FACT!
I've been using Somersets Shaving Oil for well over 20 years, initially skeptical about the use of just three drops to lubricate my face I soon was won over. Before this I'd tried loads of alternatives, but nothing came close to this one, It protects my skin, I love the smell and in all the time I've been using it I've not nicked myself. I have tried other oils but nothing works as well.I would heartedly recommend this!

Very pleasantly surprised - everyone with sensitive skin MUST give this a go!
This is a bit like discovering magic really exists. I have had decades of extremely uncomfortable shaves. Recently I have moved across to a pre -shave oil which still required soap and whilst better, was still left with sore skin, cuts etc. Like many others, the marketing around the Somerset Shaving Oil just sounded too good to be true. I nervously followed the instructions and proceeded to shave and whilst it felt very strange without any shaving soap, I persevered. I have now shaved twice using this oil and like the blurb says I have substantially reduced heat / friction rashes / nicks etc. I took significant notice of the statement about "leaving it a while" and left it for 1 minute to continue softening the bristles before shaving. After 2-3 passes I was finished without having to additionally lather up, so it does save time as well. The other trick is to keep the face wet. The result left a clean cut and whilst my face was "warm" it is so much better than normal. I complete with adding an aftershave balm Nivea product to moisturise and this seems to do the trick. In the cold weather I am wearing a scarf and it normally continues to aggravate my skin where I have shaved, but after this process with the Somerset Shaving Oil, I have not had any issues having clothing close to my skin!
