Q: Do I need to have something set up with the microchip to be able to schedule 48 hours in advance?

Timer Very complicated. I regretted the purchase. Took me ages to figure it out. I eventually did after some time. Manual operated timer would have been a better purchase.

Q: Will this keep the food cold? Or cool ? So it doesn't get maggots ?

I got some small ice packs that fit. But, I only use it for same day feeding so keeping it cold isn’t vital.

Q: Does this feeder only allow access by a specific microchipped pet? I can't tell with the product description referencing the timer only with the chip.
