Unlike other models, these are cheap and flimsy before they're mounted but once in the rack they are strong. The vent holes make it easy to mount or strap equipment down while still allowing air to flow around everything. A+.

Works exactly as intended if you know what I'm talking about but the shelf's good has held up well in our off-road scoring trailer for motorcycle events

So the racks themselves are actually great for the most part. 1 of the 2 was perfect out of the box, racked up without a problem. The second rack, however, broke through the box and proceeded to get bent up in shipping. While this is partially a "shipping issue" you couldn't expect this to not happen with the way it's packed. It really needs something to prevent the wings from breaking through the box. I was able to get it bent flat again with a hammer and a few swings on my anvil. I thought this was all that was needed, however, I was wrong. There are 2 layers of metal on the wings and the one that was bent also had misaligned holes between the two so it took a little extra effort with the drill gun to get the first bolts through, and I ended up stripping the first bolts so had to replace them. I'm not sure if it was a manufacturing issue or shipping with the misaligned plates but seems more manufacturing as they are seemed together. Wish it had not arrived damaged, would have saved me 30 minutes or so of trouble but in the end they did get mounted and work perfect. Though the one I bent back does have some slight chipping of the black coating. Not a big deal and won't even notice unless you are really looking. Overall this one's in the middle. It's at a good price point so I feel like i'd order again and cross my fingers there is no damage. They seem strong enough for regular applications they are meant for, I wouldn't put a large UPS or heavy server on it, but for something like that you'd want something more substantial and likely 2-3 U and/or connect to the back of the rack too. Because they will work for the long time with no additional "work" i'll give it a 4 star though if there were half stars I would have rated it 3.5 for poor package design but good product.

Edit: Returned for refund. Review raised from 1 to 3 stars for the seller's concerned follow-up. One star deducted for each of two problems: one in the description and one in quality control. 1) The product description omits the interior storage height of ~36.5mm, too shallow for mounting the intended Cisco SG350-10 in a 1U space. 2) The pair arrived with one shelf's mounting ears dramatically bent as though previously used and clumsily removed. Additionally, both shelves warp upward enough to throw off visual lines; 9 lbs/4 kilos would flatten the bow but my networking gear is too lightweight: the look was unappealing. The 16" shelf depth is perfect: if not for the restricted vertical space I would have overlooked the flimsy bowed metal and bent rack ears.

Nice shelf. Vent holes are not too big. Good thickness of the sheet metal. Strong for a 1U shelf.

Bought two of these for a new rack. Put one in and installed a small/medium size PC, an AT&T router, and two WD external drives on the rack. Despit it having a 2mm thickness, it bent at the flange immediately.
