A go-to router
Powerful, rugged and a smooth-operator. A plunge router with variable speed control for versatility (8,000 - 20,000 rpm). Good to use with all sorts of 1/2" and 1/4" bits from small to large (max diameter 50mm, plunge of 80mm). Soft start 3-HP motor that maintains its speed under load. Fine depth control mechanisms. Comes with accessories. TStak box. Fits Trend tables and Unibase. Yellow.

Lovely product
Bought for Son. He loves it. Slight problem with 1st one that arrived but was sorted with no hesitation and very easily. New one arrived before returning faulty one. Great tool for a chippy!

Good Choice.
Overall I'm pleased with my choice. It is a robust router and the fact that I an use the less expensive 1/4" bits most of the time but still have the ability to use 1/2" bits when really needed is great.Speed of delivery was perfect. Vendor responded well to my request for info.

Good quality machine
This is a very good quality machine that is let down a little by a flimsy lining to the storage box and not very robust plastic dust extraction accessories. I bought it to replace an ageing Makita router, and once I got used to the extra weight I found it much easier to handle. The soft start and large base plate means keeping control is much easier than my old machine and is giving much better results.

i have this installed in my jessem router lift and turned upside down. i also have the xtreme router bit extender mount in it. as routers go its excellent for what i use.

most expensive but shortest lasting power tool I ever owned.
Bought this for kitchen cutting kitchen worktops which it did with ease. Cut through solid oak leaving perfect joints with no breakout whatsoever. This router has many features which I found useful. however after its second use on some worktop joints the router stopped working so I changed the fuse and still nothing. So I turned the rotor by hand a little then tried again and it worked normally for the rest of the cut but stopped working again on the next so you guessed it , the brushes are done after a few cuts and very little use. This is the most expensive shortest lasting tool I have ever owned. Apart from this major issue the knurled nut is totally useless, it just slides up and down and has absolutely no return stop locking power what so ever. It's going back.

Maybe pick your second choice tool this time?
Let me start by saying I am a huge DeWalt fan with the majority of my power tools being yellow and black. I really wanted to love this router and I hope it was just a one off bad egg but there was a major flaw which is quite concerning. I opened the box to find the router and accessories quite honestly rattling around together in the t stak case. While normally I wouldnt be too concerned, this is an expensive toy to just be popped in a box, perched loose on a badly moulded tray bashing the accessories. I then picked up the router to have it almost drop to the floor due to the plastic handle literally disintergrate in my hand. This was not due to impact damage, the plastic had turned into a crumble and was completely written off straight away. This is not good at all, if it had been during use it would have at best ruined the project if not a body part! For the rest of the machine, its fairly heavy and appears strong and well built but by now my confidence was truely lost if the handle is not even fit for purpose. Its a shame as it has a lot of good features on paper and I was expecting good results from its specs.I will continue to use DeWalt but as for this particular product, I simply can not recommend it over other premium brands if you are a professional user. I have since purchased a bosch router for 200quid less and found it to be well contained, built strong and does the job very well indeed so it was a blessing in disguise. I am a moderate user and like to buy the best tools available to my funds but unforunately in this case the cost did not command quality.
