Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway, Deluxe Roundhouse

I purchased this for my two year old grandson who carries his Thomas with him everywhere! On Christmas morning, my grandson spent hours playing with this toy. My son (his father) also spent hours playing with this toy and was equally excited about the Deluxe Roundhouse. The roundhouse is large and a bit heavy, so one might keep that in mind when considering this for purchase. Great product!

It had broken pieces when it arrived. One of the doors does not open. Disappointed!

My son really wanted the roundhouse for Christmas to add to all of his Thomas tracks and trains. It looks great and he loves the way the doors pop open and sounds go off as the trains exit and enter the roundhouse. It does have some issues though. For one it is very big and very heavy. I think the non-deluxe version would have been a better choice. This would never fit on one of those train tables (if you have one) and it doesn't fit in our huge train box, so it has to sit separately on a shelf in the closet when not in use, and takes up a lot of space. It comes with a turn table which is great, but all of the joints on the turn table are female, which means that in order to build continuous tracks you need to have 3 or 4 MM track pieces. We only have one which means we can only use two of the tracks coming off the roundtable. I'm going to have to order special MM track pieces in order to use more of the tracks. This is a serious flaw on the part of the designers, I'm surprised they didn't realize what a huge problem this would cause.

Well made. Nice colors. Lots of play hours. For the price it should have more than ONE sounds button. ..

My four-year-old loves putting his trains in and taking them out and using the turn table, and he loves using the little connected tools to "work" on his train. Well-constructed and has held up well these last five months.

This is a VERY clever idea. My grandson has my son's Thomas train which is still in beautiful shape. This introduces extra concepts to playing with the trains. It also expects a kid to set priorities and problem solve as to which train goes next, how to line up the tracks, etc.

Note this is the large roundhouse, there is a smaller one with less bells and whistels. I had read another review where one parent stated their child didn't really play with the additional features beyond day one and have to concur the same for my son. You're fine with the smaller model.

This was a quality Tim for the price. My 5 year old so played with just this item for half an hour. It was just what he was looking for to hopefully complete his train obsession!
