An amazing production

This is a lovely quality coffee table book, with a range of large-scale iconic photography from World Cups. The brief written passages, from a selection of football journalists, are perfectly pitched to illustrate the photography. It’s really well presented and makes an ideal gift for football fans.

I'm not sure if a younger person would find this is interesting as I do but if your memory goes back far enough, as mine does, then reliving some of those iconic moments is a wonderful trip down memory lane.It's probably not a book that you would dip into often, but you probably pick it up every time the World Cup comes around just to have a little look and remind yourself about days passed.

This is a real treat. Depending on your age, you'll remember some of this vividly, some of it you'll have heard about, and so on. But for any fan of men's World Cup football, there are so many iconic moments featured here. It's not a book of facts and figures, rather it is articles reproduced from the The Times' archives, and accompanied by great photography. For me it was wonderful to look back on memories from the eighties, nineties and subsequent, but also great to read about 1966 too even not having witnessed it at the time! There are those painful moments recalled too though, Italia 90 and the penalties... Definitely a great coffee table type book to enjoy over time, and a special present for a fan too.
