The SoundPEATS Engine 4 earbuds produce good sound for a pair of earbuds at this price point - actually, they sound good even compared to more expensive earbuds.BASS: These have really good bass extension and those looking for good sub-bass will find it in the Engine 4. These don't have a nasty sound-muddying mid-bass hump either. Many other earbuds at this price point will have weird mid-bass bloat that "bleed" into lower mids causing overly warm mids. Luckily, the Engine 4 doesn't exhibit that problem at all; the bass is very clean and does not get in the way of the mids. Now out of the box, these had way too much bass overall for my particular tastes. But that's completely OK for three reasons: [reason #1] You can tone down the bass with the eq in the SoundPEATS app [reason #2] bass QUALITY - clarity and definition - is very solid [reason #3] there may be bassheads out there who may actually enjoy that much bass.MIDS: Are you a B-man, M-man, or T-man? Me - well, I'm an M-man. That is, I'm a mids person. I love natural sounding mids. Too many times ear buds and headphones will have weird 'scooped-out' or 'shouty' or 'overly warm' mids where the lower-mids, mid-mids, and high-mids balance is out of whack. I'm happy to say the Engine 4 - to my ears at least - do not have that problem. The Engine 4 has a very smooth and full mids presentation with just enough energy in the higher mids to keep things interesting. Simply put, the tonality and timbre of the mids in the Engine 4 are just right to me.TREBLE: The treble amount is just right to me. It's not overly veiled or toned down, but it's not overdone and too in your face like you might find in other main-stream ear buds and headphones. Also, quality-wise the treble is smooth with no noticeable sibilance.Overall clarity: The Engine 4 exhibit superb clarity with solid resolution and track separation. That is, these can handle many different sounds going on at the same time, and each different voice, instrument, etc. will sound clear and distinct. Now of course these won't be as detailed and resolving as a pair of 1000-dollar headphones, but you knew that already.Battery life: I'm my experience so far these definitely have had above average battery life compared to other wireless earbuds I've owned. This is especially impressive when you consider the fact that these are super lightweight in your ear.I've owned wireless ear buds costing many more times than the Engine 4, and the Engine 4 sounds as good if not better than those other ear buds. If you're looking for the best possible sounding wireless earbuds for the least possible money, these are most definitely worth a look. I purchased these with my own money for $30 - which is yet another indication this product page was made in error; the Engine 4 is supposed to retail at $60. This is my second pair of SoundPEATS. I came back to the brand because the first pair (Model: TrueAir2) were awesome for over a year until I put them through my washing machine, which was the end of those! I bought these Air3 Deluxe earbuds as a replacement and so far (6 months later) they have been fantastic. For the low cost I can't see how splurging for 2nd gen Airpods would be worth the extra $$.SOUND QUALITY:They sound great for this style of headphone. If you ever had the corded apple earbuds that used to come with iPhones, these sound at least as good or a little better, which means they are very serviceable for the earbud form factor. I use these for phone calls and never have sound quality or connection issues.FIT AND COMFORT:I choose to wear earbuds as opposed to in-ear headphones because of the comfort. In-ear headphones just make my ears hurt after an hour at best. These fit nicely into my ear and don't wobble around even with moderate movement. They will be more likely to fall out if you're doing something very athletic, so best to choose a different style if you're looking for that. But for everyday life, travel and work these have been great.BATTERY:I get approximately the advertised battery life. With the case I'm never running out of charge.FEATURES:I've had zero issues with connectivity. The touch functions for play/pause and volume control work well but can be a little sensitive and require some getting used to. The auto-pause feature that pauses your music if you remove the earbud from your ear is the only feature that sometimes doesn't work perfectly. Sometimes if I jerk my head it thinks I've removed an earbud and it pauses my music. For that reason I've disabled it using the app just to keep things simple. I like that I have that control.The app is NOT necessary to use the earbuds and I only downloaded it recently to disable this feature. I don't think the app is very good (It's clunky to use and the sound EQ doesn't seem to do much) but I didn't buy these to use the app.

Got mine on April 2023. Used them daily. As of writing, had been 7 months.Pros:1. Sound quality is good.2. Tapping on the earbuds as controls works fine.3. Inexpensive4. Pairs with my phone easily.5. Comfortable to wear. Had worn them for up to 2 hours at a time. Usually wore them about 1 hour at a time, daily.Call quality:While the audio is fine, callers complain about not hearing me. Too soft.Cons:1. Taking either earbuds out of your ear stops playback.2. Been 7 months and I noticed the earbuds would crash as in no sound then reconnects. Have to double tap to start playback again.3. Battery life is nowhere near the 5 hours stated. I got a bit more than 2 hours per charge of earbuds.4. Left earbud sometimes does not charge. I suspect this is due to the metal contacts rusting or getting dirty?Update:March 15 2025.Not quite a year since purchase, the earbuds gave out.The charge case's led light stayed on constantly, showing a white color. Never seen this color before.Then the case would no longer charge the earbuds.

I'm incredibly impressed with these earbuds! The battery life is fantastic, easily lasting through my commute and beyond. Being able to use just one earbud for calls is a game-changer. They fit perfectly and comfortably, and the sound quality is surprisingly clear, even with the noise of traffic. Music sounds great too! The charging case is super convenient, and the earbuds charge quickly. I get about two hours of talk time, and even more when listening to music. Highly recommend
