Along the Path to Enlightenment: 365 Daily Reflections from David R. Hawkins

It has been my pleasure to be a student of Dr. Hawkins for the last decade. Dr. Hawkins was a treasure, a blessing and a gift. IMHO, this book has two problems; one, Mr. Jeffrey fails to cite the sources of the "quotes" he takes from Dr. Hawkins. This leads to problem two, this book, due to "editing" and selection is much more a "Scott Jeffrey's" book than a "Dr. David Hawkins" book. Indeed, IMHO, some of the edited "quotes" completely miss Dr. Hawkins' original points. Hawkins students are best advised to stick with the original sources.

I love it. Gives me a daily reminder of past ideas presented by Doc Hawkins from some of his other books.

This is a great daily read.

This is a daily reader - some days a single pithy sentence. What I don't like about it is the - lack of continuity? Dissolving the Ego by Hawkins, edited by Jeffrey, is laid out by topic. One idea is connected to another and another. This leaves me frustrated.

I like this but prefer to read Dr. Hawkins work in context, not edited by someone else into short passages that are sometimes unclear.

Love this book...read every morning . I have every David R Hawkins book in my kindle library. He’s my “go to” author!

Excellent daily meditations.

The content of the book is very insightful and I've read many of Dr Hawkins books previously. But the quality of printing is very poor. I believe this to be a counterfeit copy as inside the back cover it says printed in Great Britain by amazon?? As you can see there is a white line down the edge of the cover and the paper is very cheap. It is also sold on amazon for a higher price than from Hay House themselves who are the original publishers. I feel I've been scammed. I will be keeping the book though as the publisher is out of stock. But very disappointed.

I have read all of the books by David R Hawkins since "Power vs Force", so when I first heard that this book of daily readings was coming out, my first reaction was to wonder what value it would add to what was already published. (Dr Hawkins' writings are the most accessible pointers to spiritual evolution and enlightenment that I have read - and "Eye of the I" and "I:Reality and Subjectivity" are certainly two of the books I'd want to have if I was stuck on a desert island!) This selection of daily readings is, however, well worth having as it can be helpful to focus on one particular insight per day, i.e. contemplating each insight one at a time. Having this selection makes carrying out such daily reading easier. Also, this selection generally avoids the issues in Dr Hawkins' writings that some might find controversial or more difficult, so if you have benefitted from his writings and are wondering what is best to recommend or give to those new to his work, then this may be a good choice.

Those already familiar with Hawkins work/teachings will find this a great way to start the day. A sentence, a paragraph to contemplate each day of the year, before you set off to walk the dog, buy a paper or drive to work. I'm well into my second calendar year with the book, and the daily reflections continue to connect at a deeper level and provide a counterbalance to worldly and egoic concerns. It's also a lovely inexpensive gift for like-minded friends.

This is an inspiring little book to supplement Dr Hawkins' writings. It gives a short piece for contemplation each day, or of course one can dip into it at random. The passages vary in length from a couple of lines to several sentences, all providing food for thought and spiritual reflection.

Love this handy little book! You need to be familiar with David Hawkins other books to fully appreciate these reflections. I now carry this book with me everyday in my handbag and remind myself of them throughout the day.Highly recommended!
