Good bit at a fair price
I have a router and table with this bit that is dedicated to full-time edge banding of 3/4" birch plywood. Have processed several thousand linear feet and its still perfect. The bit will get some glue build up from the banding (any bit will) . I keep a toothbrush and small jar of acetone under the table to clean the bit once a week.

Great when used to make pieces matching a template piece for an adirondack chair and table set
I used this item to cut out pieces of an adirondack chair so that they would match a template piece. The bit worked very well even though I haven't yet made/purchased a router table and did the routing by hand with clamps. Filled this need perfectly and for the price, can't be matched at any big box store for comparable bits.I did NOT receive this item at a discounted/free price to bolster positive reviews unfairly...

Great cut as usual from Freud but coating looks like ...
Great cut as usual from Freud but coating looks like it was put on with a brush and was received with bubbles and chip right out of the package. The notorious rubbery sleeve that seems to be glued to the shank is easily removed by making one cut with a blade over and along the shank. Do not try to pull by the cutter head or you risk a nasty cut. You aren't going to save this package for storage just keep your hands out of the way!

Very impressive - highly recommend
I am familiar with the Freud brand - their circular saw blades in particular. I am a "pro" turned "hobbiest" due to a change in career…and I tend to only right reviews when something is great or something is poor. This bit is really good!Actually outstanding - "the norm" for Freud? Then I shall buy more hence forth.First use of this bit was punishing - trimming ½" Black Walnut flush to finish a box, both across and along the grain, taking off between 1/16" and 3/16" of material. Finish sanding was a breeze, as the cut was near perfect. No snagging, chaffing, chipping, splintering - nothing!I was using a Delta Table Router - not a hand held model. As some have mentioned the ½" shank makes quite a difference - if your router accepts ½" shank then personally I wouldn't buy one with a ¼" shank, unless you are only using it for light duty work.and as with most tools (more so with bits, blades etc) you are generally paying more for better quality, not a brand name.As it seems most alternatives are now from China or "imported" (which means China again), it's nice to see "Italy" - notice how they don't say "imported"?I would rather buy made in USA, sadly not much anymore. Remember the "Proudly made in the USA" stickers on Porter Cable tools?Lastly, this bit was very reasonably priced here on Amazon

Great cutting bit!
I recently built some tool cabinets for my shop. All of the doors are plywood edged with poplar to cover the edge grain. I cut the poplar edge banding slightly wider than the plywood so it could be flush trimmed. This Freud bit with 3 cutting edges did a fantastic job! It cut through about 80' of poplar with no problem leaving a very smooth finish.

Bits from freud are AMAZING
I wish that when I added 3 of the same bit to my cart that three of them came, not a cove bit as my third. We'll be able to use it but order accuracy is all that matters when reviewing another company. Please send the correct items next time..

A Great Addition to my Router
I use this bit to make many of the same items by first making a pattern and then follow the pattern using this bit to cut multiple exact copies of the pattern. It really speeds up production. I also attach the pattern to a piece of plexiglas to make it safer to cut the pieces. It has been a great addition to my router.

Excellent results
I have used only two brands of router bits: Bosch and Freud. I have a Bosch router. I used this bit for trimming laminate in my kitchen remodel work. This is a high quality pristine results bit that produced excellent results. I would highly recommend the 3-flute (3 cutting edges) design.
