Excellent pencils and really fun to use.
I wrote an in-depth review on these pencils over on my blog so if you're interested please do check it out: http://wildportraitartist.com/2015/08/03/product-review-faber-castell-graphite-aquarelle-watersoluble-graphite-pencils/But for now here's a summary:Graphite Aquarelles and great for creating watercolour-esque paintings without the hassle of watercolours. They are ideal for illustrators but might be a little hard to use for realism and hyper-realism. These pencils are also great for getting areas of graphite down quickly and useful for concept sketches. The brush that comes with the set is of good quality and I didn’t feel myself wanting to use other brushes instead for my test drawing. The graphite shine disappears when water activated which means you don’t have a battle with the lighting when trying to get good photos of your work. The only thing I wish was better would be the 8B, as it is not quite dark enough for my liking. As someone who has never enjoyed watercolours all that much I was surprised just how much fun these pencils were to use. Highly recommended. A medium in its own right.

A good alternative to Berol Karismacolor Aquarelle

Bought as an experiment and love them
I am a long time faber-castell fan, love graphite and trying to learn more about watercolour. I bought these expecting that they were perhaps a little gimmicky? just due to the fact I don't know of this product being well discussed, coveted or that much of a cult following. They are not gimmicky at all but deliver all they say they will. They are easy to draw with, though not quite the feel or look at normal graphite of course. They blend very well and pick up the pencil stroked excellently. No pencil lines left behind in a few strokes. Great variation of values in the pencils you get in this pack.I can see this easily turning into a regular set of tools with me given the fact they will have great blendability and in fact probably would be easier and quicker than trying to blend normal pencils over. Also no graphite sheen in the light too.Well done Faber-Castell

These are draw smoother than the equivalent from Derwent, ...
These are draw smoother than the equivalent from Derwent, but put down color slightly less. The graphite is also slightly warmer in tone than Derwent pencils, also not quite as dark. Although I do have to say that it is quite hard to estimate which 8B in either range is darker so there's slightly more range to play with Faber-Castell. The HB in Faber-Castell pencils is much lighter than the HB in Derwent. The Derwent HB is as dark, or darker than the 2B in Faber-Castell, for example. Also, overall the Faber-Castell pencils are slightly more warm (towards sepia) than the Derwents which are in direct comparison much more neutral in tone.

Good pencils!
Really nice watercolour graphite pencils, with a variety of hardnesses to choose from. Also comes with a round no 6 brush. Got them for sketching previous to watercolour painting but brilliant alone as well.

good pencils
they are fine pencils, altough I still treat this product as a whim. I do prefer the regular graphite pencils honestly. I have the impression that I cannot get same darkness with water-color graphite pencils as I can with regular pencils (when using same hardness: 8 b). I guess I would need to get used to them ;-)Giving '5' as this is a fine product

Great product!
I'm a lover of working with watercolour paints and with graphite pencils, so when I saw these, I knew I had to try them! They work just the same as coloured aquarelle pencils, and can also be used the same as regular graphite pencils. Easy to use, blend well and can be layered. I love these!
