TOMOUNT Aluminum Telescopic Beach Fishing Tripod Rod Rest Stand

first of all 10 out of 10 for price and delivery. secondly, we got this tripod as a stocking filler as we were let down by an e-bay seller who i wont name as it might embarrass fishing republic ( oops ) . I have used these telescopic tripods regularly and take a strong carrier bag with me so i can fill it with either sand or stones and hang it from the hook on the tripod . this usually sorts out any stability problems,and if you look at the higher end of the market most tripods only take a max of two rods. at the end of the day it is what it is, and its value for money in my book

I bought this item in Sept. 2012 and have been using it since. It is fairly light, and compact and so can easily be fitted in your backpack. The major flaw of the item is that it can tip over easily when you set two or three heavy rods against it and the current is pulling. When this happens fishing becomes rather interesting as you are trying to catch the rods and restore balance. I do not anticipate this tripod lasting for many seasons but I think that it will get me through 1 or 2. I paid approx. £8 for the contraption and I think that it is worth that much.

This is not going to replace my normal beach tripod but for those trips when you need to travel small and light such as by motorcycle, this is an ideal bit of kit. Sceptical at first due to the price but glad I took a chance on it as out of the bag and erected it is quite sturdy and gets to just over 4ft high, you can add some weight if needed from the centre hook provided. I have only fished two rods but that is all I need from what I consider a travel set up.

Haven't had the chance to use it yet. The product is well built and yet lightweight so it will be easy to carry. Some folk have expressed concern about stability; what is not apparent from the photographs is that there is a hook underneath to attach some weight(s) to stabilize the tripod stand. A carrier bag simply filled with some sand, pebbles etc will suitable for this purpose and will add greater stability particularly if the tripod is to be used with several rods.

I have used it only twice but others have remarked where did I get it I told them.Its light but seems strong after many uses I will find out.The makers should consider making it in green or camo with a black legs,then they will be able to sell more to fussy anglers who think fish care what color it is?

good price free postageas it is telescopic i got it to use off the uneven jagged rocks where i liveso far so good its still like new with each telescopic leg still locking tight after using once a week for 2 1/2 months,so ill see how it copes with use twice a week through spring and summer months

cheap and cheerful, does the job and has a hook to allow weight to be added in windy conditions, a carrier bag full of sand or pebbles works wonders! one of the legs came apart but was only the glue on the ferule cap so soon fixed

Came buy free delivery which was a bonus, for the price it looks a good piece of kit for the beach. Will have to wait for the summer to try it out but I think if you hang some heavy stuff from the middle it should be stable for a light weight tripod.
