This 7ft cross wired modular cable is just what you need if you are hooking a VOIP box in a home wired with phone jacks. If you is leaving old school phone company and using a VOIP provider like Vonage or PhonePower or your cable TV company this will be useful.When plugging your box into a jack you would normally plug a telephone into you'll need a crossover cable like this to make the connection and have the right wires connected to the right place in all the outlets.It's kind of like when you needed an up-link port a crossover cable on a network switch back before they all became auto-sensing. Phones are like that too.This cable is a 4 conductor phone cable meaning if you have 2 lines it can support both with one connector. This is exactly the situation I have so this is just what I need. If you only have 1 line it will still work just fine. Don't use this between a phone and your wall jack, use a straight cable. Well, unless your wall jack is cross wired, but then it should be fixed...I'm pretty happy with this pretty well made phone cable. It's just what I need for a very reasonable price and that's 5 stars for me!

I was looking for a flat phone handset cord because the coiled ones always get knotted up. The ad said flat but it was coiled...after three weeks of use it is knotted up.

Needed this for our bosch dvr. The one in the box was very short. This was more than enough and works perfextly fine.
