Great series for the whole family

Thoroughly enjoyed this one! Check out a couple of episodes to get your taste. If you enjoy, definitely grab it.

I’m giving this five stars because I like the actors and the guest actors. I also like the people writing, directing and producing it. However, I can’t recommend it for children or anyone who doesn’t understand just how dangerous experimenting with magic or the occult can be. They did try to make this clear at times through dialogue, but any dabbling in this area can cause serious problems for people. Trust me. You don’t want to come face to face with anything related to the occult. The discs I received are of good quality. The price was good. The cast is wonderful and includes many people from their previous series, Leverage. That series is definitely worth watching if you enjoy the people involved with this series.

If you like the show and the movies, you'll like this. The show is free on Prime...for now. I bought this in the event it leaves Prime. I already had the movies, but I wanted the extra features that weren't advertised in the regular full series release. One thing I really liked was the packaging: very space-friendly and eco-friendly with cardboard sleeves fitting two discs each. For me, that's great because I generally ditch the case and just put my DVDs in a CD spindle. But if that's not your thing, this box set will not take up much room on your shelf. Other box sets have plastic cases and almost always a few loose discs--not this one.

I would have preferred a 3.5 rating. It deserves better than 3, but I don't think it deserves a 4-star rating. This is all four seasons of "The Librarians", which is a TV series that grow of of the three "Librarian" TV movies starring Noah Wylie. He is in the TV series from time to time, but is frequently "away". It's a more-or-less lighthearted adventure series - the premise is that there is magic in the world, and to protect humanity, various magical artifacts are collected by the Librarians and stored in "the" Library, but they also spend time fighting evil. Each season had a season-long villain who they generally defeat at the end of the season. This was an interesting concept in season 1; when it became evident that season 2 was using the same idea, it lost some of the appeal, and it continued into seasons 3 and 4. Of all the seasons, season 2 had the absolutely best ending, and season 3 had the worst. I found season 4 more depressing than lighthearted - the ending of this season helped it rise above an entirely depressing season. It has been touted as "family-friendly entertainment", but I don't agree with that assessment; perhaps "generally family-friendly" would be closer to the mark. Some people may object to magic; others may find the element of lesbianism (which becomes more overt during the series) to be objectionable.

All of the disc work perfectly. My only complaint is that it's not plactic. It's a box with cardboard disc sleeves.

Good series. But the dvds or in cardboard sleeve and the lid of the box set is loose.
