BLACK+DECKER 135 W Sander Power Tool with 1/3 Sheet, KA300-GB

I had read other reviews stating that there was a problem with the clips not firmly hold the sanding sheets in place. But I threw caution to the wind, and my money at Amazon and bought it.Well I'm an idiot.I should have heeded their warnings, I should have learned from their mistakes, and I should not have bought this product.This sander initially worked fine, the sanding sheets were held in place by the clips, and was working as I had hoped.Then after about half an hour of use one end of the sheet slipped out. I put it back, firmly, and continued with my sanding... and then the other end slipped out. For ten minutes I was stopping, re-clipping and starting, over and over again. I tried other sanding sheets, but nothing held.What it seems is that the clips are initially quite strong, and are adequate in holding the sheets in place. But after some use they lose there strength, causing this major design flaw. Once the clips can't hold the sanding sheets in place you cannot do any sanding with this product.This sander is a failure.I should have sent this sander back to Black & Decker, along with an email containing a liberal use of angry emoticons. But being British (and a little reserved) I sought a solution... and found one.BEHOLD:The Black & Decker KS300 v1.0a (with added shoe lace)*edit*v1.0b - Replaced shoe lace with more permanent cable ties

It is a fairly good sander power wise but after about a few uses the sandpaper grips loosen and lose grip. It takes a lot of attention getting the sheets of sandpaper securely fitted. If you use for any length of time they work their way loose. This could be improved by black and decker somewhat. I previously used my sons sander which was a cheap non branded one which I had absolutely no such problems with even sanding long and rough old scaffold boards so when I could not borrow his I thought this would be as good quality as the B&D mouse sander I bought 3 years ago which is still fantastic. I have now finished one project using this sander but it was very frustrating so may have to get rid of it and buy a different one for future projects as its too fiddly despite good power.Its cheap though so not too much lost other than my patience.

Very pleased with the delivery and packaging, even better than what I was expecting as I thought it would have been second product but it did look new to me! I am used to use sanding machines, this one is very good; the only detail you have to do right is to fix the paper really well if you don't want it to come off... and then you would blame the machine. It is a strong machine and it last hours. Good for large pieces of wood, door frames...

needed to replace old one had for years pleased with item and no problems for job I needed it for only problem not major but the attachment fro hoover for dust etc does not connect to my dyson so will have to buy a part so maybe they could put on it what hoovers they fit

This does the job but be warned about vibration damage to hand. I did a whole floor and lost feeling in fingers for almost a week. A pre req to carpel tunnel syndrome. This would be fine for small jobs of sanding but not long periods of time.

I had 1 of these for approx. 39 years .. til I got it back from a relative. This one doesn't seem so robust as the old one.. but what is nowadays? It works as it should, that's the main thing.

Arrived a day late x great condition x its light and easy to use x glad I got it as it made life so much more easier x well recommend

My last sander died on me half way through doing the hall stairs and landing.Only needed a basic one so got this, and it does the job.Would be great it the sanding sheets were a mil or two longer, but the sander itself is fine.

My last B&D sander was green so the orange is a pleasant contrast. Exactly the same model and easy to use. Hope this one lasts as long as the last.

i replaced an old (15yrs+) B&D sander with this one and to be honest this doesn't seem as good. I'd say its OK on light jobs but I' trying to sand down a painted porch and it's struggling, in fact I am going to borrow a more meaty sander from someone.

Works well so far ,only used it once ,time Will tell

Bought for a friend who was doing work for me it was to replace his he was really please with it and couldn't get over how cheap as it worked just as well as his old one.

I bought this to replace an inferior Sander sold by Wickes which did not secure the sandpaper effecively. The Black and Decker system works well and is lighter and more useful for small jobs
