First of all, the album itself. The daft "Syrtaki" aside, this is a terrific piece of pop. A bit more adult and sophisticated than the sounds ABBA espoused in 1975 (i.e., before they set the dial to "bloody brilliant" in 1976), this collection showcases a superb singer in command of her craft. Swedish rewrites of international hits solidified Frida's "survivor" image and were mostly well chosen. "Jag är mig själv nu" (I am myself now) makes a funky up-yours feminist stomper out of Gary Puckett's creepy "Young Girl". Sondheim's over-covered "Send In The Clowns" is delivered here with staggering delicacy and grace. A cover of Bowie's "Life on Mars" is superb as is the beautiful "Ett lliv i solen" with its angelic acapella first verse leading to powerful choruses. Its a testament to Frida's delivery throughout that the language barrier just melts away. Definitely worthy of investigation.This re-release: the heavyweight vinyl delivers a lovely sound and the choice of white vinyl for the limited edition was in keeping with the album's elegance. Back To Black are notorious for bad sleeve scans and, in this case, they are lucky that Ensam's original design almost helps them get away with it.

Very Good !

Not a big fan of the album or Frida in general (I was a Agnetha man) but it's cool that it has been re released and on colour vinyl... So for that alone it needs to get 5 stars

Tolles Re-Release eines exzellenten ABBA Frida Albums von 1975!Tolles Cover Reprint, edles, weisses Vinyl und top Klang.Frida hatte 1975 ein Album mit Cover Versionen aufgenommen. Allein „Fernando“ wurde neu für sie geschrieben. Das Album ist komplett auf schwedisch.Ich danke Universal Music hierfür.Zugreifen, da es sich um ein limited release handelt. Sicherlich bald vergriffen.

Warum nur hat man bei manchen neuen Universal/Polar Abba (bzw. Abba Connection) Produkten das Gefühl dass bei Universal/Polar eine gewisse Lieblosigkeit gepaart mit Geldgier vorherrscht?Wer eine Originalausgabe der Platte besitzt wird sich wundern wie schlecht die Cover Reproduktion hier ausgeführt ist, und das obwohl gerade von diesem Coverphoto tolle überarbeitete Versionen existieren!Die Wahl des Innencovers ist auch recht willkürlich. Gut es passt gut zu dem weißen Vinyl und grundsätzlich finde ich persönlich das Polar Zeichen sehr dekorativ, nur gab es dieses Zeichen und das Artwork zur Zeit der Veröffentlichung der Platte noch gar nicht, es wurde erst 1979 erfunden... Das mag etwas penibel sein, aber wenn schon Reissues, dann noch in angeblich limitierter Version (diese Limitierung ist nirgends zu verifizieren...), dann doch bitte mit mehr Liebe zum Detail!Der Klang der Pressung ist aber ganz passabel.
