Exactly as required for daughters school lessons

This book is intended for the Bass clarinet but is equally useful for the standard Bb instrument and is remarkable value for money. It comes with 2 DVDs which have 187 solo and group tunes plus accompaniments which can be read from the screen or from the book and the tempo can be set at anything you desire or are capable of playing!! This is definately the way to learn the clarinet. It also shows the optimum key positions. There is also a selection of Duets and Trios,it also shows fingerings and some tunes have piano accompaniments, the volume of the accs and metronome can be individually set.

The book was bought for my daughter and these are her comments: Good progression at steady pace . Fairly easy to understand. Worth noting that it uses American terminology such as half notes and quarter notes instead of quavers and semi quavers which may confuse beginners.

Esta serie de métodos me gusta mucho. Es super didáctico y te lleva paso a paso a desarrollar tu técnica, mediante el aumento progresivo de las notas y pistas de acompañamiento para que practiques. Yo compré todos mos volumenes para sax alto, clarinete, violin y cello y estoy muy contento con los resultados. Lo recomiendo mucho para aprender a tocar bien tu instrumento.

I am an adult self-learning the clarinet. I have "band" background, lots of it, but as a percussionist. So I have a head-start - I can read music, I am a pretty good sight-reader, I know how to produce good tone and intonation, but I am brand new to the clarinet. This book is about one of the most comprehensive I have seen, and I did buy a few clarinet books. It's well-laid out, easy to follow and learn from, and includes online resources that make everything worthwhile. With your 10-dollar book purchase you get complete access to a full online library of videos, sound files, PDF files, lessons, play-alongs - I mean, it's almost insane what you are getting with this cheap but amazing book. Like I said, I have some band background, and I can tell you, it's really fun to sit with a group of musicians and play together in an ensemble. The online resources included with this book make this almost a reality! You can play dozens of different songs with (usually) several different kinds of accompaniment, from metronome alone to full symphony! I played a movie theme along with an orchestra, and it sounded pretty good! There's even concert band accompaniment on some songs, which takes me right back to band class, it's awesome! And there's no band director to give me dirty looks when I squeak! For an adult self-learner, it's perfect, and even better for a student because their teacher can make and keep track of assignments, etc. Honestly, I can't recommend this book and online companion enough. For the little money you are paying, you are getting a wealth of resources of all kinds, from care to assembly to playing techniques, and the opportunity to play along with bands, pianos, orchestras, etc.! It's a lot of fun and like I said - worth every penny!
