A beautiful book with wonderful examples of collage work for the beginner to the experienced artist.

Great read and informative

I purchased this because of the great reviews, however I didn't really see or find anything new or anything I didn't already know. I let my Niece have a look at it as she is new to collage and she said that it needed to give more visual ideas on how to go through the process of collage. I think it is nice for your book-shelf, but it's nothing that you can't find online.

This books proves you can collage with almost anything.. If like me you love paper and other textiles, then If You Can Cut You Can Collage is a must have book. In clear, concise an simple steps the projects in this book are beautiful and inspiring. Every step is covered, from choosing your paper, techniques, balance and depth. The author has given us a masterclass in collage. The detail and presentation are perfect, and all artists will benefit from this beautiful book. It would be an ideal gift and what i loved was that all kinds of techniques are given a two page spread. Drawing, stenciling and monoprinting to name a few, but there is so much more. It is really like having a private tutor at your fingertips. The book has some fabulous paper at the back to start your craft, and this paper is of good quality, The designs are fun, plain and pretty and are ideal for getting started.

I first saw this book whilst on a mixed media art course. I thought all the ideas in it were inspiring! There's a lot more in here than collaging, lots of other techniques and tips and ideas. It can spark off all sorts of art ideas in different directions. I love collecting art books and this is high up in my favourites. Definitely recommend. Liked it so much I bought it for my sister and niece to inspire them too!

This book would be perfect for anyone who is interested in learning about collage, regardless of their experience with this art form, or even if they’ve never made any art at all. The author lays out how she approaches collage in simple, clear, and friendly steps, from how to get started through to finished pieces. It’s a good mix of professional instruction (color palette, design principles, materials, techniques, etc.) and sharing her personal approach, views, and process. The author includes wonderful visual examples throughout that are both helpful and beautiful. A beginner could follow along and, using the sample paper that is included, begin their own collage projects. More experienced artists would benefit from the insight into the techniques and processes that the author has developed. As you would expect from an accomplished visual artist, the book has a beautiful layout and every page includes images and pictures that help the reader’s understanding of how to collage, but that are also very pretty pieces of art on their own. I bought 2, planning to give one as a housewarming gift. You will not regret this purchase!

itis ver simplistic. Good for a beginner. I expextected it to gpo deeper into collage.
