I bought this ERA Paints 2K High Gloss Automotive Clear Coat to paint a replacement bumper after the dealership quoted me $800 for the job. The clear coat went on smoothly and without runs when applied in short, sweeping motions. I was able to get three light-to-moderate coats from a single can, and the result was impressive. The finish matched the original bumper perfectly, with a high-gloss look that made it look brand new. For the price, this product delivered professional results and saved me a significant amount of money.

Amazing stuff! I had a little parking lot mishap and decided to try and do the repair myself. I’m no pro, but I am handy. I sanded the section down to remove all the gloss. Then sprayed several coats of color. I sanded the color coats with 600 to get rid of drip marks and debris. I followed with this clear coat. It took multiple coats before it started to shine but once finished it looks showroom. My son asked if I had it professionally painted! He was very impressed when I told him I did it with spray cans. There was no need to buff it out. It looks amazing! The whole process took a day. It’s already been through the car wash and I haven’t had a problem yet. I hope it lasts.

This is the way to go to make all your hard work shine like it should! My spray can paint job looked great with their clear but It was softer then I could live with. A light sanding and a few coats from this clear and it was fabulous in shine and stregth. I will definitely buy again.

Refinished a set of 12 year old headlights. When I laid down the clear, it had this gray haze in it. Looked almost like trapped moisture or as it would normally look as if the humidity was too high. But, it wasn’t, the conditions were perfect for spraying clear. Emailed ERA paints at 11pm cst on a Saturday night, mentioning the issues I was having, and got a response before midnight!! I’m not sure if it was just the way the solvent layed out in the clear or what, but after 7 hrs of cure time it cured out. Looks great!! WAY better than I was expecting from a spray can clear!!!! Would HIGHLY recommend this clear for a small job you don’t wanna bust out your gun for!!! An excellent product and even better manufacturer!!!!! You just don’t get customer service like that anymore!!!!!

I used this on a fender that I was replacing on my 04 sebring.. I only put the clear coat on the outside of the fender, where it gets the most wear, and where people see it.. Nothing on the inside of the fender.. I got 3 coats on the fender, and it took a full can.. Take this into consideration when thinking about how much of the clear coat that you will need for your project.. As you can see by the pictures, the rain is beading up very well on the fender, but it is not beading up on the door, which was original.. I did not buff it out, or put any kind of wax on either surface.. Overall, it went on pretty close to flawlessly.. So nice, that I did not feel the need to buff it out at all.. My only complaint with this stuff is the fact that once you start using it, you have an 8 hour work time.. It is not like a can of paint where you can use some now, and the rest later.. It is a 1 time use deal with this.. But so far, I am very happy with the results..

Do yourself a favor and finish your paint job with a 2k clear coat. I’m a novice at best but finishing my project with this clear coat resulted in a professional look. This is NOT the same as using a typical hardware store rattle can. HUGE difference. Use a 2 part with hardener and you will not be disappointed!!

Excellent product! Looks great! It didn’t cover as much area as I thought but great stuff overall!
