Stellar Black Universal Knife Block with Fibre Rods, Scissors Block, Safe Non-Slip Base

Brilliant. We bought this as my son is now old enough to just about reach into the cutlery draw, where all our cooking knives were stored. The old, 5 slot knife block clearly wasn't going to cope with the knives we had, so I've been looking for a replacement almost since I was aware of the fibre rod concept.This is the biggest by far version of these blocks I've found. I've managed to fit up to 14 knives of various sizes, including 2 large chef's knives, 2 carving knives, 2 bread knives and down to small pear knives. The block is solid, sturdy and stylish. I've gone beyond the recommended knife content, but I figure if the fibre rods break at some point (which they haven't yet) I can buy a cheapy alternative and just use the rods.This has been a God-send to protect little probing fingers. It also makes the knives easier to get to and is a stylish addition to the kitchen. Very happy.

Excellent block ,sits neatly on the worktop and has 10 knives in of various sizes and still room for more. It's easy to access as it's slightly angled much better than a similar one I had had before.I am very pleased with this block

Firstly this thing is massive so be prepared.Now when you first get this thing it is great but after a year I threw it out. The stringy bits (not sure how to describe them) you put the knives into eventually tangle after use and the whole thing becomes unusable. Had I known I wouldn't have bought it.

Inadequate volume of fibres, fails to support knives. Previously bought and found to be successful. This latest purchase entirely fails a use test having a significantly reduced number of fibre sticks rendering the whole product useless.

Seeing that this knife block is more expensive than other similar ones, it sure doesn’t deliver.The make is very poor - the corners are dented, finish is not even or is scratched, the glue is visible at the corners.But the biggest let down is the amount of bristles inside - they don’t fill the whole space and even with 6 big knifes in, the bristles are very loose. Which means that knifes don’t hold in place, they slide down and sink to the lower edge of the placeholder.

Looked the part but the machined chamfers were out so the edges looked odd. Also the black 'spaghetti' type packing for holding the knives needed to be tighter. Heavier knives at the bottom were fine but lighter knive at the top slipped down. Returned for a refund.

Had a crack in when delivered so sent it back. It wasn't shipped in a packing box, just its regular 'off the shelf' box so no surprises it got damaged. It was fine but have bought a different replacement (with a step in for steak knifes) and glad i made the switch as the design and the angle of the unit is much more efficient on a kitchen counter.

With it not having pre cut slots you can put more knives in than the standard set. I also put a pair of kitchen scissors in, as I can never usually find the when needed.
